no surprises here, its just another story illustrating perfectly the cancerous sickness that afflicts all levels of this dysfunctional dickensian society and those who purport to police it.

Looks like a student in one of my classes who has just been told to drop as she/he has never attended a class one, and is only to be seen being prissy walking down the corridor exaggerating every movement.

oh, you are talking about transgender, not pimping

well as they are accepted in society here rather than marginalised, they do appear more obvious

but I bet the percentage of them in this and most societies is around the same

A bit exaggerated, to be sure.

As it's not the norm or by any means an accepted standard.

In a normal country the headline would read "Police accused of sexually assaulting children after plying them with hard drugs", rather than focusing on the comeupance of a lowlife, ill educated and probably poor peasant pimp.

Why there are more TS in Asia than the west | Transpinay World | Asian TS | Dating
Why are there more transsexuals in Thailand and Philippines?

This is a question which has cropped up for anyone interested in transgender issues. Countries like the Philippines and Thailand seem to have a much higher percentage of transsexuals compared to places like the USA and UK. The question is one which has been discussed by many but it doesn’t have a clear answer.

One theory on why there are more TS in certain countries is because of tolerance. For example in Thailand it is more acceptable to be transsexual. However tolerance doesn’t seem to explain it, surely in the west we would at least suspect some people that we know to secretly be TS, but this almost never happens. Therefore the tolerance argument is probably not the reason, people are more tolerant because it is more common.

The next theory is religion. Thailand is Buddhist and it is believed by some that being transgender is a sort of half way point in reincarnation. When a woman dies, she then becomes a katoey (Thai term for the third sex) in her next life, before she can then be reincarnated as a man.

Others in Thailand believe that when a man cheats on his wife, he is reincarnated as a katoey in the next life because of his bad karma. Buddhism is a religion which rewards those that practice ‘good karma’ by reincarnating them as something good, and punishes those that generate bad karma by making them into a being or animal with a worse existence. Being a transgender is considered to be a hardship, it is easy for TS to find many sexual partners but difficult to find a lifetime partner.

However the religion argument also doesn’t seem to work because the Philippines is a Catholic country. Christianity certainly does not have much respect for transsexuals or even homosexuals. Countries which do not have a strong religious element such as the UK have a very low trans population.

The most complex but likely answer to why there are more transsexuals in certain countries is DNA. This is an enormous argument which often relies on speculation because there just isn’t enough data to analyze. However there seems to be some possibility that DNA patterns could be the answer. For example the Aeta people of the Philippines are roughly equivalent to Aboriginals in Australia.

They have no recorded examples of transgender people. This is the same with Australian Aboriginals. There are surely some but there have been no studies and canvassing various transpinays has all brought back the same answer, the Aeta people seem to have far less gay and trans people. There are Aboriginal transgender people but the percentage seems to be low, on a par with Caucasians.

There seems to be a higher amount of transgender people in Asian countries. From India all the way to Samoa there are countries with a high percentage. Certain countries have less like China, however this could be because of the stricter laws. In the west there are many closet cross dressers, but China may have many closeted transsexuals.

The next argument is that some races have different bone structures which means transsexuals can pass easier. In the west transgender women have a harder time passing because they are more noticeable. This is a difficult argument to accept because it is normal for TS to transition at a late stage in life in the US and Europe. Minds are opening up and it is becoming normal for younger people to transition, which may help this argument in the future. For now it is a none starter as the world of changing gender is most popular in the west for cross dressers who are usually men that enjoy dressing up part time.

Social ridicule is a reason not to be yourself. Anyone that has watched a few English TV comedy shows will of seen men dressed as women for joke. However countries like Thailand and the Philippines also have a rich comic culture mocking ‘men in wigs’. Trans women are mocked globally because people simply dos not understand it. Therefore ridicule has no baring on why certain counties have more TS than others. It is certainly easier to be yourself in certain countries, but this is more likely a case of what is common becomes normal.

The final and most disturbing possibility is money. It has been documented that families in Thailand will actively encourage and invest in a boy becoming a girl so that they become a bread winner. It is no secret that millions of men visit the country each year for sinful pleasures. It is argued that many families are so poor that they groom their sons to become ‘lady boys’ to exploit this demand. The high drug use among these ‘women of the night’ and low life-expectancy makes this argument redundant.

Gosh its amazing how some of you can get all confused and distracted by a bum in a skirt, I thought this thread was simply about an evil person who thinks its fine to kidnap children and force them in to prostitution, and the equally odious customers who like raping children.

As for the police raping and drugging these kids, its actually a moral improvement in their behaviour, I saw some research from 10 years ago, that found that the most of these slave brothels in the border regions were owned, operated and frequented by the BIB

So as I read this the police checked out the obvious place to look for missing kids and then left them there ????

Lets put a bit of cynical spin on this.

Mr Somchai has been abusing his daughter for years and sometimes 'lends' her out to his friends. The daughter starts to make demands like 'I want a new mobile' but dad clips her round the ear and tells her to speak when she is spoken to 'Buddha! kids of today eh? I blame television.'

Anyway daughter talks to her mate who puts her onto the katoey, who can find her regular customers, doesn't beat her up AND gets her ice and yaba. And daughter is quite happy, so when the BiB turn up she tells me that she prefers to stay with Ms Katoey, thank you very much. Except that the BiB do the right thing and tell dad, who is not going to let any freakshow muscle in on his 'investment'.

The katoey pays a fine and some compensation, the police customers don't have to appear as witnesses, the daughter gets a mobile phone and they all live happily ever after.

I have lived here too long.
