    Lost In Translation.

I'll be touching down in Thailand on Sunday. The main purpose of my visit is to apply for a visa for the missus (tourist visa). Now, I have all the documents that are required for the application, yet my only sticking point is getting the visa application form filled out in English. I'm not going through an agent as their fees are tantamount to being arse-raped by a silver back gorilla and the form is only five pages thick.

Is there a reputable place in Bangkok where I can take the missus and get help filling out the form in English? If someone here could help me filling out the form, then dinner and a few rounds of drinks are on me and the help would be greatly appreciated.

Like I said, I'm touching down on Sunday and I'm staying for three weeks.

    Cheers

    -hopski.

You don't need anyone to fill out the form for you just do it yourself and get the misses to sign it, It's a very simple form. That's what I've always done and never had any problems whatsoever, if your worried about filling it in I used to print two copies the first one filling it out in rough and the second the proper copy.

^what he said. It's perfectly acceptable to fill out the form for your other half as long as they sign it to say everything on the form is true. I'd love to help but I'm in the UK, feel free to PM me though if you're having any trouble with any specific questions. No expert but my bf was granted his visa a few months ago so it's still fresh in my mind.
and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him, with LIGHT coming out of his mouth!

Filling it out myself and having GF sign out worked for me. Wasn´t even that long of a form (to Sweden that is ).

You will need to have any of her Thai docs, birth cert etc translated to English her is a company I recommend just down the street from US Embassy tel: 0-2651-5165, 0-2255-5589 sent a few people there and the results have always been good...I'm in California right now if you want to drop over for the dinner and drinks Ha Ha

It's not necessary to get anything translated. I didn't and had no problems. The checklist itself states this in bold at the bottom. That's for the UK though.

^What she said. The only document I had translated was the birth certificate but that was only because her parents have difficult names and my phonetic spelling of Thai words seems to be completely different from everyone else's.

^I copied the names from his parents ID cards, much easier than asking the bf to spell them

^Definitely the easier option if the parents are still a live.
