Europe trade body wants end to TM30

The European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) has proposed an immediate end to the TM30 24-hour reporting and TM28 change-of-permanent-address immigration forms.
The EABC represents the interests of the European business community in the kingdom.
It submitted the request to Thai officials including Kobsak Pootrakool, deputy secretary-general for political affairs to the prime minister; Gen Anupong Paojinda, the Minister of the Interior; and Pol Lt Gen Sompong Chingduang, the Immigration Bureau chief.
Jan Eriksson, President of the EABC, said, "The immigration form TM30, or 24-hour reporting, requires property owners and lessors to report the movements of foreigners using such properties.
Both Thai citizens and foreigners have found the situation difficult and unnecessary, and the situation has caused some unfortunately negative views about Thailand, both as an investment and a 'doing-business' location, and as a tourism destination. This is surely not good."
A completed TM30 form is now a prerequisite to using normal visa services. "We commend the government for taking positive steps to make it easier to do business. Currently, we feel that the TM30 is undoing those good achievements," he said.
"It is hard to see how security which relies on self-disclosure can be a useful solution," he added.
If the TM30 and 28 gets cancelled then will all those that have recently been fined be reimbursed??? Whoa hang on. Probably only those that received a receipt.![]()
I got my TM 30 done 2 weeks ago with no problems or requests for the TM 28. I am betting this mess is cleared up before I have to do it again.
Now what about this bitches.
The TM-30 App has been given a complete make over and is now spitting out Passwords and logins within hours so now doin TM-30 is a retards dream.

Yer, well i would not be talkin to loudly about that simply because it could be cumin tomorra.
The silly Thai munters have dropped Health Insurance for tourists because they realised that was beyond retarded but as far as us long stay shitters go it's still on the cards. They have been quiet on that lately and for your sake hope it stays that way.
In fact it's been gazetted and is currently waiting for the Head fukos to give it the nod. It's working its way through the system.
I'm getting a new O-A Visa in a few weeks so i will be good for another two years and if they bring it in after that my give a fuko meter will not register.
But you my friend will be affected wont Cha.![]()
It was announced to go into effect mid July. Then for whatever reason, silence.
Local and International insurance companies of course would love to see it made mandatory so figure they are lobbying to make it happen.
Not yet but I reckon it will be coming. Note, there are several countries which require long stayers have health insurance.
As long as the coverage amounts aren't ridiculously high, makes sense for the country and the long stayer.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
The best avenue of attack when dealing with shit in Thailand is to take it as a given and be prepared for it.
If they bin it thats a bonus but ya can never call it and would be foolish to consider this issue is dead.
To cap it all, along with the TM30, TM47, TM7 and home visit I had the local police come around tuther day to do my annual report as to farangs living in their Amphur. This year I didn't have to provide a photocopy of my passport. The cop did it on his phone. Progress, saving me at least 50 Satang.![]()
As I am only here for another 30 days before I explore the nether regions of Phil I thought it wont matter, but oh contraire. Lady cows inquiry with immigration means She will need about 5 forms over the next 30 days as I go about my travels doing my final visits before leaving, as she apparently has to fill in a form each time I leave Cow manor and stay elsewhere overnight.
Help on the Horizon?
Deputy government secretary Kobsak Pootrakool has promised to sort out problems associated with TM30 within the next two months.
TM30 is the contentious issue of foreigners having to report their whereabouts within 24 hours of arriving at a destination not mentioned on their visa documents.
Fines and refusals to extend visas are the consequences of failing to report.
Kobsak, who attended high level meetings last week in an effort to resolve matters, indicated to Daily News that work was ongoing on the matter that was a priority along with other obstacles to investors and operators in the tourist sector.
He said that he had talked with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and that other ministerial level meetings with all concerned would be held to resolve the TM30 issue.
Announcements of the end of the TM6 form and a new app for TM 30 reporting have merely served to stoke the fire this week
Well, my experiences with the TM30.
Since they’ve resurrected enforcement of the TM30 regs in March I’ve visited the US and made a trip to Phuket.
I registered to do the TM30 on-line (yes, for the homeowner my computer illiterate wife). Did not get the user name and password in time (took about a month) for my return from the USA so we filed in person.
Upon return from Phuket I filed on-line using chrome browser and get an “Import data in sequence 1 is incorrect” error message. Several attempts – same result.
However, advice from another user. Using the search function on the main menu after login your can search a one week period. Upon searching the date I filed the data, including date of arrival and date of filing came up. Printing of screen shot provides a hard copy receipt.
Yup, still an unnecessary PITA but, as long as I file from the comfort of home… just another five minute drill.
Now I do my 90 Day Rep’s and my TM-30’s on-line. Hmm… just hopin' they’ll be lettin' me do my extensions on-line?
Yup, just living' the dream.
As a retiree with all the time in the world on my hands and no schedules nor responsibilities I go with the flow with a smile on my face.
When I working here with schedules, requirements, milestones and commitments, I was in a constant state of disbelief and incredulous anger. Still amazes me what we were actually able to accomplish. I don't revisit the past too often - not a pleasant stroll down that memory lane.
