Unhappy dreaded red stamp on my tourist visa!!

Hey, I’m hoping someone can help me out here. I’m a south African in Bangkok. I came here with a single entry, got an 30 day extension went to Laos for my first visa run and got a double entry visa and GOT A RED STAMP, it’s says that I might get refused if I apply for another tourist visa. In total I have only been here for 6 months. can anybody help me with a solution please!!! do I take the chance or not, and go for another double entry???

Go for another double entry but in a different country, although most likely you will only get a single entry.

Doubt that, Penang used to do the same if they thought you had too many tourist visas.

    things are tightening up.

no way the crime or default played a role unless you told them.

squeezing people to go type"o" over tourist.

take a bank statement next time. just in case they ask. they did me.

it's nothing personal. stupid thai shit is all.

fly in and you get 28 days guaranteed, 60 if you hit a consulate, plus 30 more to touch a border for a total of 90 days and 1900 baht.

double entries are going the way of the old triple entry it seems.

simply a matter of money. over lands a killer.

    agree with dd.

Years ago I received the "red" stamp from the folks in Penang. Then it was difficult. I went to Kota Baru. That is on the north eastern side of Malaysia. You take the train to Sanoi-ga-nook station. Then hop onto a motorcycle taxi to the Thai - Malaysian border. The on the otherwise in Malaysia a 30 mile ride into Kota Baru city. There I was able to still get a double entry visa with only 24 hours. Kota Baru was a well kept secret. Rooms were cheap the town is walk-able and the people were very nice. Take a look at that. I also did the language school bit for two years. Then the thai's started getting prissy about that. Thailand is expensive compared to some of the other countries are it. It all depends on the wind and the flood waters around here. Good luck and my heart felt best wishes are for you.

    Red Stamp

    Hi Jean
I'm also from SA I think the best way is to go to the Thai Immigration in Bangkok and speak to them. The last time I extended my visa after a 3 month stay they were very help full. They will be able to tell you more about the RED stamp on your visa
    Best of luck

Savannakhet derives from Savanh Nakhone, which means "city of paradise",

Consider going to another country, this lot are a bunch of xenophobic, racist scumbags. I have been here for 8+yrs and see it get worse nealry every year. I have a wife a child and have spent millions of baht in this country, helped out after the Tsunami and even taught these fucktards for the past 5yrs!!! and still no thanks or respect...
Burma is looking preferable if Ang Sang can get in!!! Many of my western teacing friends are also hoping that place will open up...old colony and all that!!! better attitude I would expect.
There are no strangers here, just friends you haven't met yet.

You have been here six months on tourist visas. And you wonder why you got a stamp saying No More Tourist Visa? Simple, to Thai Immigration you are no longer a tourist here.

    Single entry = 2 months
    30 day ext = 1 month

    3 months so far right?

Goes to Laos for his FIRST double entry ... gets a Red Stamp.

    Then he adds ...
