    ajarnjobspace.com

I've had a browse, and it looks very impressive. Far more helpful and user friendly than ajarn, and the page doesn't need to open the chain of fruit machine styled flashing banners.

Well done for taking things to the next level, whoever you are.

(I do suggest changing the banner from "Thai teaching jobs" though)

I'd like to see one of those at 100k. In the meantime, feast your eyes on this one for a whole 19,700 baht a month. I mean, come on - would you bother getting out of bbed for it ...

Maybe it is, but I've only looked at it once, and briefly. I didn't bother with a search as there's so few jobs on there, only 72 when I was looking earlier. It seems to me that they should be highlighting those jobs, so I'd expect them to push the well-paid ones to puff the site a bit.

Initially, I thought this thread was referring to the jobs page on Ajarn.com. It seems like a great site.

That's a pretty basic uni package in Thailand, though. There are few hours...9 to teach a week, generally plus 6 office hours. The rest of your time is yours to take on lucrative privates or whatever.

I did the advanced search and founding nothing over 60K though.

As far as having limited jobs right now, they're new - cut 'em some slack and this isn't high hiring season either.

It looks good, much easier to use than that other site, IMO.

I think 90 percent of the farang teachers in Thailand are not qualified to get a well paying teaching job, if they were they would be in contact with the international schools and not some back street language school, seems to be a world of difference to me but most TEFLers don't seem to see it that wau.

People are generally paid what they are worth, if you believe you are not being paid enough then get a job that pays more, if you can't get a job that pays more then you basically have reached your peak and that is your station in life.

Lets look at this from another angle, most teflers are gonna get 30k baht per month and most think they are worth more, many will say they don't have the time to look for a better paying job, so lets say you need 6 months to find the ultimate job, 6 times 30k baht is all you need to bring to Thailand to find your ultimate job, if you don't find it in 6 months then it don't exist, much the same as "sex instructor for page 3 models" doesn't exist

The dynamics of finding a good teaching job in Thailand are pretty simple. The problem is, some people can't accept that qualifications do in fact matter. Hence you see some folks asking the dishonest and deluded question, "what is a qualified teacher?"

If you don't have qualifications, you take your chances. Why and how should it be any different?

Those with no degree, no experience, no bono-fido teaching credentials can still get jobs here. But the mind boggles regarding why anyone in such a position thinks they deserve more than 30K, and it's funny to watch them blame god and man for their predicament.

Lots of morons on ajarn regularly asking "I'm not sure that I can face another year in education or a year teaching in the UK, but should I do a PGCE before I flee back to Thailand?"
