    congrat Benners:

    lots of hard work in that and I'm not sure you'll see the financial benefit here in Thailand...

    however it does make you employable anywhere in the world which has its advantages...

    I reckon about 300 quid personally, although the total cost was nearer 2,000 quid. I get a small pay rise which means in about 8 months I've covered my outlay.

    Nine months? That's all an MA takes in the UK. Wouldn't an M.ed open a few more doors for you than a delta?

    Bottom line was if I did the DELTA:

    (a) my employer would pay;
    (b) I could keep working and get all my observations with students I already know in familiar classrooms;
    (c) I had two guys on hand to help who'd done it in the previous 2 years;
    (d) the DELTA gets me a bigger bump in pay than an M.Ed would do with my current employer, and I've no short- or medium-term plans to move jobs;
    (e) another colleague has just finished a Master's degree and he's spent more than 2 years and a lot more money on it than I've spent with the DELTA. I liked the idea of the DELTA's fixed deadlines as I'm a lazy sod at heart;
    (f) I like teaching and I don't like managing, so I'm not sure why I'd want to do an M.A or M.Ed.
    The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.

    Well done, Benbaa.

    It's a good feeling when it's out of the way, eh?

    You're lucky that your employers paid and you get a pay rise.

    It's a shame that so few employers in LoS seem to give a toss about PD.

    Congratulations Benbaaa.
    It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to accomplish a feat like that. I taught aircraft maintenance courses at a state college part time and a major airline full time for many years here in Northern California and I know first hand the difficulties involved and the rewards gained with the challange that you have taken on and mastered. Keep up the good work and good luck on NOT fucking up to bad on your next go around.

    ^ Having the DELTA means I can fix planes now?!

    Anyone got a plane that needs fixing?
