    Thanks, good link that.

To answer the OP. It likely depends who the Thais involved know or don't know.

Apart from it being out of date and providing the wrong result.

A book that has the potential to not only save lots of baht but also deportation if you are caught without one.

Sounds like the school are trying to do this under the radar - 20,000bt is well below the going rate at government schools.

If you want to give it a shot and it sounds good then go for it. I strongly suspect they will vigorously nod heads to your demands to string you along but the WP will turn into one of those Nigerian scams - always just over the horizon.

If you are working up country, i wouldn't sweat the WP/lteacher's cert. Immigration are not going to raid a boondock government school to arrest a 'teacher' in their community - likewise the teacher's cert.

They obviously want to make a working relationship with you, so, if you like the conditions of employment, what have you got to loose?

My blue work permit book resides next to my blue passport book, as they have done for the past 6 years, I know the difference but another advantage of the work permit is using the Thai cues at immigration !!

They have snooker tables at immigration these days? Or do you just stick the cues up your arse while waiting in the Thai queue?

You need a work permit to spank you monkey here or hire a Thai to do it for you. That's the real reason for the sex industry.

Saw several UN passports on my last visit to immigration. Not sure who the people were.
