    Christmas

Many people in many lands celebrate Christmas. Why do they celebrate Christmas? How do they celebrate Christmas? What does Christmas mean to you and how do you celebrate it?

There may be a party somewhere in my village, maybe not, I only know of one Christian here (I mean someone who follwos one of the faiths which call themselves Christian, Ceburat), and he'll probably not be around.

I haven't celebrated for years, but back in the UK, it was a time for contemplating, as winter solstice and the turn of a cycle.

For me it is Jesus's birthday, it is all about family, it is about time off from everything in this world apart from family and it is about good food.

    Amen

Praising the Lord and his wars, or burning some incense as a 'Buddhist'?

It's about the infant baby Jesus, and little lambs, and angels, and small children wrapped in warm clothes singing lovely carols on your doorstep.

    Oh, hang on, wrong thread.

Errr, it's time off to get pissed isn't it? Office parties, trying to shag the bird you said you'd never shag for a million quid, and throwing up over the boss' new shoes.
The truth is out there, but then I'm stuck in here.

It's a pagan holiday with links to Zoroastrianism.

It's not religious to Xtians - Easter is the Xtian holiday.

As for me, I get together with me fambly and mates and eat, eat, eat, and drink, and be merry.

It looks like the party is gonna be at m,y place, the village community decided that farang celebrates X-mas.
So we'll sacrifice a few chickens to appease the "fish-god", can't go wrong with this, and I'll put on the karaoke.

Well, I've taken it upon myself to ensure our village isn't gonna be "punished with death" by the Christian god or its followerss.

Does the "chicken god" get equal time? when do you kill a pig?

    Merry Christmas all, BTW.

We went to a pleasant evening held by one of the resident authors. We even had a real, live Christian! Sadly, the Christain also bought some of his spawn, so he'll not be invited next year.
