This kind of thing is in line with the actions of some big unions. If you join us you are a "Brother" or a "Sister". If you don't you are a scab, and we will beat the crap out of you.....and trash your car.
Then there is usually a speech about "freedom" and the rights of workers.......
....oh and Bsnub....nobody is saying the "occupiers" don't have a right to assemble and speak out. They do.....
They do not have a right however to camp on and occupy public...and in some cases private property on a semi-permanent basis, and provoke the cops into kicking their ass for the cameras, just to score propaganda points.
If they can drag a grannie or two down to the site to get pepper sprayed or bring in a few toddlers to get hurt in the takedowns....all the better. Most of the well known terrorist groups around the world use similar tactics. The video results are always properly edited to show how peaceful and serene the protesters are and how draconian and brutal the cops are. Strange how the most vitrolic and confrontational protests always and without exception claim to be "peaceful"
There will often be over reactions from individuals on both sides during these kinds of confrontations, even when it is a genuinely peaceful event, but when the over reaction comes from the side of authority....it is treated very differently. The whole army gets blamed if one soldier steps out of line. Absolute BS. When the cop is seen spraying a bunch of people who won't respond to a request to clear the road....he is seen as draconian...even though he may have spend an hour trying to reason with them before he takes the action shown in the propaganda video. Editing and selective reporting is pretty standard practice on both sides.
Why do you always make excuses for them when they stike the first blow but when it's a cop who strikes out first (out of sheer frustration at being spat on) you want to paint the whole police force as thugs?
Again; the system does needs some changing. We all know that. Even FOX seems to agree...These people will not change it because they don't know how, and most of them don't even have a clue how it works, or why it failed. They just know about those mysterious "banksters" and whatever a few aging anti-establishment pseudo academics tell them...and of course Michael Moore..
They are just being a nuisance. That can (and has been) tolerated for some months now. It was not going to be tolerated indefinitely.....
The system will change, out of necessity, but it will be changed by men (and maybe a few women) in suits working in well furnished offices..(probably with photo's of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan on their desks.....) .and not by dope smoking, un-employable wards of the state, living in Wal-Mart tents yelling insults and provoking the local cops, to get media attention.
There is a natural tendency in many of us to root for the underdog, and there is a lingering bit of rebel in many of us.....but we also have to accept that the underdogs actions are not always right....and a spot of pepper or high pressure water hose is entirely appropriate at times....Anyhow, it will be getting a bit cool now and the snow will be coming soon enough. The dope will freeze in the needles and the guitar strings will start to rust.
Bank executive bonuses will be announced shortly.......up on the 20th floor this is known as "wealth distribution"....![]()
