    Stopping

Over on TV there was a thread about stopping after having an accident.

The poles there were pretty high for yes they would and they would wait around for the police.

It's a different group of posters here who don't live on a moral high ground.

So would you stop if you ran somebody over?

Would you stop if that person had been a boy on a motorbike with no helmet who had hit your car because he was riding too fast with no lights on.

Would you stop if it was obvious that the accident had been fatal even though it had not been your fault.

Would it matter what part of the country you were in if this happened?

    Paupa New Guinnea? Why not?

For me it's a difficult one. If some little somchai has killed himself because of lax parenting and bad education on road use and behaviour why should I forfeit a large sum of cash or jail time because of this?

PNG you have a good chance of being killed by the natives....dosn't matter if it is your fault or not. Many expats there that have been in an accident where somebody was killed, have grabbed their passport and gone straght to the airport.Company policy for some firms.

    Of course not.

Maybe this topic would sit better in the motoring forum.

In my town there is a big problem with the Aboriginals crossing the main road from the pub to the park and occasionally they get bumped by bull bars. In Australia it is a serious offence not to stop after an accident but us locals have a agreement with the police that If we ever hit somewhere there we are allowed to keep driving around the corner to the police station and report it there so to stop a riot before it begins.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

If it was little Somchai's fault I'd drag little Somchai into the ditch and kick him in the head while I watched him die. Then leave.

If it was obviously my fault I might stick around an face the music.
If it was a drunk wandering into the road and he jumps in front of me, I'd split.

Drive carefully out there! You want to avoid having to make choices like this!

father in law, told we under no circumstances stop,
reasons, rip offs jail sentence even if not your fault.
it seems if you hit a bile or the bike hits you, you are rich falang ALWAYS falang fault.

heard of a story a few years back,
somchai already knocked over and a good hearted aussie stopped to make sure he was ok and if he could offer assistance,
somchai blamed the good hearted aussie and the police arrested him, aussie pays money for having a good heart,
    TIT

    When in Rome...

Once a taxi did a full stop right in front of me to pick up a passenger, so the bike with the gf and myself on it landed in the road, my last memory is of the taxi's exhaust blowing fume as he drove off.

    Yep better not to stop.
And just in case have a good lawyer on retainer. That would be the only way to beat a bad deal like that. Trouble is the good lawyer doesn't come cheap either.

Kick'em in the head to make sure they're dead! And split!
