England has already gone down the shitter anyway. With all this crap about human rights our Police and goverment have no power over whats happening. Look at these Muslim protests! is it right to have "kill blair" and "Bomb London" placards while chanting anti UK slogans? supposeably yes as the police can't do jack!

I hope it doesn't happen in the UK. Because then they'll expect the US to take action. That would be wrong.

If you cared to inform yourself instead of venting on a forum, uo'd find that police powers have been expanded dramatically over the years.
These placards are not a 'human rights' issue, it's about freedom of speech.

You should realize by now that I totally think England was complicit with the decision to go in. I don't believe England was manipulated or coerced at all.

    WWIII. ?
This is a problem the us cant get their head around. Previously, in smaller conflicts and in the previous WW's, the us would just blast the shite out of a country and bring it to its knees.
But now, with organisations they cant use the full extent of their arsenal to blow countries up and then rebuild. Now we have organisations directing from afar and in caves and burnt out buildings. The world has changed and so has the nature of war.
Al Quaida set out to bring chaos to the western world and in particular the us. It has already happened. People running around in fear, mistrust on every street corner, long long lines at airport check ins, pc getting to the point where you cant say anything about anyone. People ranting and raving about differences and how everyone should do what they do. (both sides) We are living in chaos now.
The us is running elections and a mandate based on fear and startling new 'findings' by security forces, how can we believe anything. Many countries around the world are so busy restricting human rights and sanitising the press for fear of reprisals.
Want a quick boost in the polls? Bring out a report stating that a certain organisation is/was planning an attack in a major city. Shock horror. Thank goodness we have a strong government. Poll points 10 higher.
People like Jack Straw, Colin Powell, nilified and critisised for bringing issues to the table that would encourage dialogue and more understanding.
A while ago a NZ prime minister, when asked how to protect NZ from attack and war, he said just white out the whole country on every atlas and globe and nobody will know where it is.

England is quite competent in defending its shores. The veneer of civlity gives way to vicious resolve when threatened. The "sceptered isle" can only be pushed so far.

Never. But I did stay with a few ladies of the night in Thailand several years ago who felt no need to charge me for their services since they we're more than adequaltely provided for through monthly allotments from their Island Boy pound funds.

Interesting comment though ... although it's not true. Interesting because it seems to me that it's mostly the English who have a chip on their shoulder about Americans.

But you know, I was PMd once a long, long time ago over on ajarn by one of the most highly regarded TEFLERs or teachers on that forum ... that the most untrustworthy group of expats in Thailand are the English.

    Storkers.
i'm about to settle down to watch "loose change" the 9/11 truth story.
I'll do a review of it in issues where I shall claim that everything said is far too compelling to be ignored, even by the most ignorant of republican seppos.

Misplaced confidence, I fear. I suppose from the safety of the Korat plateau, it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking we are in a state of readiness.

By the way, the shores are not under threat; it's the town centres we need to worry about.

Damn ... I still have that PM I was talikng about ... it was a PM to me in regards to advice I asked for about Thailand over a year ago:

"3. The whiny assholes who post on the forum are losers who are just here for sex. They will always be bottom of the barrel shit. Do NOT, under ANY circumstance, associate with them.

    4. Sex. Yes, it's here and so readily available. While partaking is good (and recommended), don't hang out in go-go bars. You'll end up like those whiny English bastards.

    5. Face and looks are everything here. Hanging out with losers and bar girls will tarnish your reputation.

    6. Let's get back to sex - you'll be amazed at how many young, pretty women will throw themselves at you and tell you how much they love you. Why? Because you are an unknown white man with American dollars. They see you as a source of income; nothing more. After you establish yourself, quality women become more apparent. Wait a year before getting into a relationship. I waited and now have a wonderful wife and a child on the way.

    5. Establish a network. I did it alone here, but I also have useful skills and education that allow me to do that anywhere in the world. Most people do not. So, establish a network. Choose friends carefully. Stay away from the Brits, they are even worse in person (as compared to to the board). There is only one Brit I trust in ALL of Asia, as compared to six Americans that I trust."

Now here it is many, many months later and I realize this advice also applies to many of the wanker Americans who post in these forums.

Curious as to the author of the PM.
