Damn I've been meaning to post this topic for months.
Comcast is merging with NBC Umiversal. The word is there will be a shake up in the news department. And now it's announced Keith Olbermann has been shit-canned.
I say there is a credible outside chance Comcast will revamp MSNBC because of it's dismal ratings and it will put forth a cable news channel which will compete with FOX for conservative viewers. A second cable source of alternative reporting will be born.
It only makes sense. FOX News is making billions of dollars. It is rated the #1 cable news channel. More people watched FOX during the election results than any other of the news channels, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC.
NEWSWEEK's Power 50 list of the highest paid most influential political figures puts Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilley at the top; numbers one, two, three and four.
Now, why shouldn't the largest cable operator in the US get in on that kind of action?
