Quantity has a quality all of its own. Fabulous Russian proverb, appropriately applied when the siege of Stalingrad was broken and turned around. The Germans were better equipped, well trained, well led, battle hardened, dug in and defending, whilst the Russians were ill equipped, hardly trained, poorly led and raw, but they turned it around through sheer force of numbers.

More important than the life of a thousand nutty islamists around the globe that wish to destroy the West, is a single civilian Western life. I wouldn't bother asking the pickled paki but you have been known for the occasional window of clarity so how about it, would you publicly dare to agree?

If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son ... Then shall his father and his mother ... bring him out unto the elders of his city ... And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die.

Very good sTroll, now fom one of the truly great men of our time.

Winston Churchill was one of the century's greats....

Had this quote (from 1899!!) drawn to attn by a recent USA talk on<Winston's Early Years>; truly a man of vision - and honest accuracy."How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!
Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man ashydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Theeffects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenlysystems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity
of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live."A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement;the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law
every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, eitheras a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction ofslavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among
men."Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities, but the influence ofthe religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it.No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being
moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It hasalready spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors atevery step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in thestrong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly
struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell thecivilization of ancient Rome."Sir Winston Churchill (The River War, first edition, Vol. II, pages248-50, London: Longmans, Green Co., 1899).

As frightening as terrorism is, it’s the weapon of losers. The minute somebody sets off a suicide bomb, you can be sure that person doesn’t have ‘career prospects.’ And no matter how horrendous a terrorist attack is, it’s still conducted by losers. Winners don’t need to hijack airplanes. Winners have an Air Force.

Three antihuman religions have evolved -- Judaism, Christianity and Islam. These are sky-god religions. They are, literally, patriarchal -- God is the omnipotent father -- hence the loathing of women for 2,000 years in those countries afflicted by the skygod and his earthly male delegates. The sky-god is a jealous god, of course. He requires total obedience from everyone on earth, as he is in place not just for one tribe but for all creation. Those who would reject him must be converted or killed for their own good. Ultimately, totalitarianism is the only sort of politics that can truly serve the sky-god's purpose. Any movement of a liberal nature endangers his authority and that of his delegates on earth. One God, one King, one Pope, one master in the factory, one father-leader in the family at home.

"God is a metaphor for that which trancends all levels of intellectual thought. It's as simple as that. " ~Joseph Campbell

"Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble. " ~Joseph Campbell

I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong. ~John Lennon

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal. ~John Lennon

"Out upon merry Christmas! What's Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money; a time for finding yourself a year older, but not an hour richer...? If I could work my will," said Scrooge indignantly, "every idiot who goes about with 'Merry Christmas' upon his lips should be boiled with his won pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. He should!"

    ~Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol~
