Police seize parts of rifles in Ayutthaya

Police raid a company in Ayutthaya province and confiscate thousands of rifle parts on Wednesday.

The raid at TSP Tools and Parts company in Uthai district was conducted on a tip-off that it illegally produced parts of rifles.
However owners of the firm claimed that the parts were made at the order of a military agency.
Confiscated during the raid were about nearly 10,000 parts of M-16 rifles.
Defence Ministry says it hires Ayutthaya factory to produce M16 parts

Defence Ministry Spokesman Col Thanathip Sawangsaeng Wednesday confirmed that the ministry hired a factor in Ayutthaya's Uthai district to produce plastic parts for M16 assault rifles.

Thanathip confirmed that TPS Tools and Parts was under the Defence Ministry's contract to produce parts for the rifles, which are used for training.

Earlier, the day police raided the factory and seized nearly 10,000 parts of M-16 rifles.
