...unless I'm replying to a rather lame Troll which is always a possibility 'round here...

fox 'news' has two slogans, 'fair and balanced' (which is, of course, laughable) and 'we report, you decide'.

well, that clearly wasn't the case last week.

obama was schooling the entire republican house delegation in a Q & A session, and fox 'news' cut away......so that their anchors and guests could criticize obama.

    'we report, you decide', eh?

^ I watched that this morn. I was surprised that Ailes didn't retort with a Maddows or Olbermann comparison, but it's obvious he has more class than doing a tit for tat with this uber-libbie. Krugman is a wus.

So the 49% never watch it.

A bit of perspective. Very few people watch Fox compared to potential viewers.
The 2 major channels in Denmark would have 60 million viewers each for their news programs if we were as many as you americans

Very true . . . 4 million really isn't that many, which surprises me. I thought there were more knuckledraggers there . . . but then I guess Fox addresses the fringe element of even those knuckledraggers

I'm off to the Philippines again tonight and the hotels I stay at have Fox as the only English-language news channel. How very sad

What's a "potential" viewer? Someone who doesn't have a TV but expects Obama to buy them one soon? 5555555555

^ Geez, and hatters says he speaks so many languages, you'd think he'd be able to find something else.

Fox continues to trounce the other networks in ratings, so, again, this vengeance about the network is so funny.

Oh, golly gosh, Fox "faux" news broke another oops story about bamboy -- the "no special interests" prez -- about one of his campaign contributors who got a no-contest deal for an A-stan contract. USAID today says it had declined the hiring, but, of course, not because of the Fox article. 5555555555

State Department Admits No-Bid Contract 'Violates' Obama Campaign Pledges

    By James Rosen
    - FOXNews.com

The recent awarding of a lucrative federal contract to a company owned by a financial contributor to the Obama presidential campaign -- without competitive bidding -- "violates" President Obama's many campaign pledges to crack down on the practice, a top State Department official told Fox News.

The latest update is on TV, so will add when the article is up.

    From the Fox link above-

The contract in question, worth more than $24.6 million, was awarded on Jan. 4 by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to Checchi and Company Consulting,

... Crowley confirmed that the contract has been "terminated" because the circumstances under which it was awarded “violated the Competition in Contracting Act." Crowley said the contract was actually a renewal of a $44 million contract first awarded to Checchi and Company in October 2004 by the Bush administration -- after a competitive bidding process -- and will now be put out for competitive bids.

    What a waste of newsprint.

How many billions of dollars of contracts were awarded to the likes of Halliburton and Blackwater (both large Republican donors) on a no Bid basis? And now this tiny contract, in comparison, is found to have been renewed on a no bid basis- and therefore is going to Tender, as it should.

All that article highlights is the moral bankruptcy of the Bush administration Jet. Thanks, although we didn't really need reminding.

    ^ and ^^,

Obama has been cutting some wasteful military projects.

But guess what? Congressman (concerned about keeping job in their district) are authorizing the spending and giving the money to DoD, anyway.

And of course, Obama caters to special interests. Who doesn't.

It's a problem - and always will be.

You swine! Just had enough time to catch two bits, one was a 10-minute end of the show by everyone's favourite dickhead, Beck . . . sadly I must say his delivery wasn't all that bad and his target was, aside from the inevitable Obama . . . Bush! He was ragging on Bush for taking away freedoms from the populace. Excellent stuff, but that was two minutes worth, surrounded by Obama being a Socialist, Communist, Heathen etc . . .

The second part was about this guy in Boston who had succeeded in a pickle-making business and praised his pickles of being true American pickles and that pickles were significant in that they were truly democratic . . . and an All-American.

Fuck me dead, that channel is for the mentally bereaved . . . but I may still be indoctrinated, Jonesy . . . I have another six days to get that lobotomy.

Oops. did you miss that bit, SB?

And the bit where this co. was a big BO campaign contributor?

Give us some linkies where Halli was awarded no bid contracts (sorry, the "everyone knows that" line don't cut it).

    FBI Investigates Halliburton's No-Bid Contracts

The FBI has begun investigating whether the Pentagon improperly awarded no-bid contracts to Halliburton Co., seeking an interview with a top Army contracting officer and collecting documents from several government offices. The line of inquiry expands an earlier FBI investigation into whether Halliburton overcharged taxpayers for fuel in Iraq, and it elevates to a criminal matter the election-year question of whether the Bush administration showed favoritism to Vice President Dick Cheney's former company.

    FBI Investigates Halliburton's No-Bid Contracts

Or you can also google Halliburton Watch- theres enough malfeasance there to keep you going for ages. Perhaps the single worse thing was the Cost Plus contracts- where everything spent had a percentage added on, and was then billed to the US taxpayer. thus, consumption was a profit centre. Even secretaries in Iraq were bought those big GMC SUV's- but they were never used, just sat in a parking lot. Not exactly as if a secretary was gonna go for a nice drive in Sadr city after work now, was it. Appalling.

It matters not as there is no company out there that can perform the work Halliburtion can do. We're talking diversified or what?
