Yes because there's no guarantee that going to any country is safe. One of the priviledges of being an American is that the American armed forces will get you out of harm's way if the shit starts hitting the fan. If the U.S military isn't there to protect U.S. citizens worldwide then what the hell do we pay them to do?

Besides, there was nothing wrong with Lebanon until Israel started bombing last week. More people have been killed by Israeli forces than by Hamas and Hezbollah combined.
