    Cracking sound ready to break?

I know Thailand has been divided for some time now but lately I've gotten the feeling that Thailand really seems to be ready to break. The news has more and more stories that stand out. Today's Da Torpedo is just another one and the picture of soldiers once again in front of government house on the Bangkok Post doesn't help either. On top of that there's the audio clip someone created to turn people against Apisit. In addition, the King spoke a few days ago/last week as well. But this feeling I have has been building over the last few weeks. Am I the only one who feels that something is happening or about to happen? Is Thailand going to explode? What is about to happen?

What are your feelings about the political situation at the moment?

Maybe it's the modern 'now' generation, but it seems everyone always looks at now or never. I think most people have forgotten that major events don't act like technology. The expectation of seeing the results of unfolding events NOW - you saw it with the sub prime crash, you see it with climate change. If it ain't there NOW in all it's glory, it ain't happening.

    Two months? Haha

I haven't noticed anything different at all.

This place was a circus when I got here. Very little has changed, actually.

Same movie different actors for last 42 years near as I can tell.

Superficial change perhaps but no earth shaking fundamental political or social upheaval in the future IMO. Will always be about traveling the middle road.

It would have to be a major change to see any thing happen in the N/E

Murphys law ..... everything gets worse . Or nearly everything. Thailand was a lot better when I first came 20 years ago....a lot more laid back and falang friendly. But even then I met old hands who said " Thailand was a lot better 20 years ago "
And they reckoned that when they arrived there was always someone to be found who would say " it was better before the war " etc etc. Is this human nature or is everything really getting worse. Try taking your gf to your home country 20 years ago . Wasn't it easier then ?
Following this line it seems that things in Thailand will get worse....at least for me anyways. So I reckon there will eventually be another coup to be followed by a real hard crackdown on the reds. This will attract international condemnation and the Thais will dislike us even more for expressing negative opinions about their faultless country. We will notice this whether we want to or not. If you live here...it effects you.
