It's all very well for people in salaried, simple tax positions- such as teachers, military and government people- to talk about fair tax, cheating and all that. And don't get me wrong- nothing wrong with paying your fair slice of tax.

But put that same guy into a more 'flexible' tax position- say a shopkeeper, a sales rep with his expenses, or a self employed businessman- and see what happens. I was never very aggressive with my tax arrangements- but thats not to say I might not pad my expenses, thats not to say some of my deductions were of dubious business integrity.

Blimey, I know a millionaire retailer, and what he got away with on his tax was mind boggling. But then you look at the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Halliburton, and multi- millionaire Hedge fund managers in London- and who am I to point the bone.
