What does 'hardassed' mean? If you meant 'harassed' then yeah, sure, I don't like to see gays demonised for doing something that has zero affect on people not in that group.

I am not sure sympathy is the right word though, compassion or empathy would be better. If Thailand had laws prohibiting inter-racial marriage then many of us here would be in the same boat as gay guys are in Iraq; i.e. government/religious folks poking their noses into what happens in their bedrooms.

It just doesn't feel right to have anybody telling anybody else who they can get their kicks from (assuming all parties are freely consenting adults of course).
