Look at the numbers of people killed and injused on the Israeli side, and compare to the loss of lives in Lebanon - don't you think the former has overracted, and taken action against the wrong targets? Add to that the hostage taking of elected Palestinian officials, and it becomes clear that although Hizbolah are a bunch of criminals, their actions pale in comparison with what Israel has done.

I had, over the past few months started to doubt my hostility towards Israel, mainly diue to their withdrawal from Gaza, but after what I have seen in the last few days, I am convinced that Israel, in its present form needs to be wiped from the map. They behave no better than the nazis during WW2, they both believed in their racial superiority, and their God-given right to rule over their neighbours, by all means. Just as the nazis, they are doomed to fail. The sooner the better.

I think the thread is going in another direction.Fuck Israel for attacking Lebonan but the the recent Israeli attacks is not what I had in mind when I started this thread.

I just want to discuss the double standard of the U.S administration.

They attack countries for having nukes which is bullshit and still they are unable to find the nukes,to make themselves look better they change the original reason for attcking Iraq to bringing Saddam down which is also Bullshit. They are going to attack another country very very soon on suspicions of making nukes which is double bullshit. So by keeping all these wars in mind I can conclude that America considers nukes as a threat to world security and by being self proclaimed Global Cops they have the right to attack any country which is trying to have nukes.

The question is why are they making deals with India for development of the Indian nuclear technology???

Now India is a good country with democracy and all the crap needed for being a good country according to the APE ADMINISTRATION which is not true, still the U.S should not allow India to develop their nukes cos they are the ones claiming that nukes are a threat to world security.

being a good democracy is not a condition mentioned anywhere for qualifying to have nukes.

Fuck India and the neighbours Mr.Earl I told you being a nice country doesn't qualify you for having nukes.India stole the technology got the technology from making civil use of nuclear technology and they made bombs. So what makes the U.S so sure that they wont use their weapons??

India is one of the fastest growing economy but still you can see people sleeping on footpaths in Mumbai.Yeah India's economy is growing but not at the rate that India and the U.S claims.

Once again claiming that India is a nice country and doesn't fire rockets on their neighbours doesn't qualify them for having NUKES.

When I as an American think of nations that 'terrify' me India isn't on the list. Don't know why, maybe it's because the media demonizes Iran, Pakistan, China, and NK most of the time. You never really hear about India in a bad way here in the same way that if Israel killed 10,000,000 Palestinians the press would find some way to make Israel the victim.

I thought the thread was about double standards? Seems they all apply. Iran can't have nukes but Israel can? NK can't have them but India can? Dunno, didn't know India hated America so much.

Frankly, to me, it doesn't matter who has them and who doesn't. It's not something I worry over when I fry my bacon in the morning.

Don't forget who is the only nation to use them.

I think the ploy with India is an attempt to counterbalance the growing influence of China in Asia. Plus, India doesn't have an oil so it's not like they have to worry about us invading any time soon

This is a good read with some background relevent to this discussion and that of the Indian sub-continent thread.

Like I said, U.S. involvment here is more about counterbalancing China than necessarily stopping the flow of nukes. Too many nations have them now just to make them vanish overnight.

Have you seen this bit of news surasak? Israel again? :

Israel is looking for a naval facility in the Indian Ocean to park its submarines which are capable of launching nuclear missles and India looks like the spot to do it. If Israel gets wiped off the map their three subs will answer back.

Funny how the U.S. gets out of whack over another country selling arms, but, who is the Wal-Mart of arms on the planet?

Maybe if the U.S. stopped selling arms to anyone who is buying then some of these 'evil' countries wouldn't need to produce or acquire them.

    Another doulble standard.

How many of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi's or Afghani's??

None. All of them were Saudi and one or two were from Egypt.

So why should America attack Afghanistan or Iraq??

I mean if Saudi's are the one attacking America why not attack Saudi Arabia??

Al-Qaeda is terrorist organization.Inorder to operate they need money.Without money they can't blow a fire-cracker.We all know Osama is a Saudi and his family is still in Saudi why the C.I.A doesn't investigate his Family??

During the 2 weeks when there were no planes flying in America after 9/11 why did the bin Laden family got a special plane from the U.S government and happily flew to Saudi??

I mean if I steal something and Iam at large the police will investigate my family about my where abouts. So why not interogate the Bin fucking Laden family??

They say that the Bin Laden family has disowned Osama,Okay that might be right but what were they doing in the wedding of Osama's son Saad in January 2001??

Lets see what Wikipedia says about Osama.

Why do you need to run away, when you have nothing to hide - is what they say.
It obviously doesn't apply to the V.I.P. Bin Laden family...

I find the rightist hatred of people like MM and Chomsky amazing. How can you feel so threatened by people who simply think outside the box, and ask questions? I thought you had a free country, and that freedom of expression was a right?

If we forget about MM for a while, why exactly were members of the Bin Laden family assisted in leaving the US just days after 911, without being questioned by the FBI, and while a flying ban was still in place for the rest of the US public?

I have never heard a convincing explanation, but then again, I probably appear stupid to people like yourself just for asking the question in the first place.

I find the anti-americanism of people like MM and Chumpsky amazing.
In a country that allows them the freedom to make a living off denigrating it. But I guess hollywood wouldn't have given MM an oscar for a pro-NRA documentary.
I find MM amusing really because he is a magnet for ignorant anti-americanism. When the DNC invited him to their convention and fawned all over him after his unprecedented 25 minute standing ovation at the Cannes film festival, the fate of John Kerry was sealed.

The answers to the question regarding the BinLaden family were answered long ago. It is typical MM to make much to do out of nothing. For that the moon-bats lavish their mindless praise.
Reasonably intelligent people see through the well crafted lies of MM.
MM doesn't care because he's become fabulously wealthy for his "comedies" which are often mistaken for documentaries by the gullible.

So, now it is anti-American to question your government, is it? I though the definition of a patriot was a person who supports his country at all times, and his government when it deserves it. As far as I can see, the only "crime" MM and NC has committed is criticizing the US government and its policies. Isn't that within their rights according the to US constitution (At least for the time being)?

I am sometimes embarassed to be a conservative. Sad to say the right wing now wants to divide people by calling those who don't support their extremist policies "un-American" or "supporters of terrorism."

IMHO it's un-American to blindly support your government simply because it's 'your' government. A real American would be the most critical of their own government because it's the most dangerous in the world when it comes to one's liberty and rights.

In the same fashion right wingers tell you that if you support the Palestinians or criticize Israel you are therefore anti-Semitic.
