And there is no grace in that. You have not given in gracefully at all.

No, no, you cannot guarantee that at all, unless you speak to my accountant. Where do get off, making a statement like that?

    Fair point PH.

That's not how I mean it. I read your response as being quite aggressive, as said above, and didn't want to get into a slanging match with you as I find you and your posts among the most refreshing.

I apologise, that was a dumb and rude thing to say.

Also true, JJ. I was paying close to 40+% for far too long to appreciate that fact . .. and when someone asks me why I feel I should get anything from the government . . . well, hackles.

Add to this capital gains, GST and all the rest and it shits me that the government is simply giving away money . .. with no factual impact on their aimed achievement and I have yet to see ANY data to suggest that the 90 had an impact at all.

Again, sorry Lily. I was out of line.

as we approach the end of another financial, this is exactley what i face again, and to be honest i am so ferking tired of being taxed every time i fart and yet i can,t give a job to anyone and yet the govt gives my hard earned to deadbeats who will never have a job, sorry i should say take a job, my accountant advised me to take a couple of years off, what the fuck? just to reduce my tax? i NEED to work not for the money, just the need, and it doesn,t matter who is in charge they are all a bunch of lieing bastards trying to appease the great unwashed, if they were truelly honest and were there for the passion of the job, get there noses out of the trough, cap there salaries and be it like the rest of us, when you walk from that job, thats it, the perks are over, nothing more ongoing, and whilst i,m on me perch, bring back compulisory service, be it civil or military, for anyone not gainfully employed or studying, might sort some of these lazy pricks out and that includes the bloody lazy bitches too...there i feel a little better now

Australian politics is comfortably boring. I was bored of Howard after 8 or whatever years, I'm bored of Rudd too. Economically Australia is doing OK, much better than most of the world these days.

Then again, probably in financial terms my most succesful friend in Australia has left and moved to a nice Villa in Bali- vowing never to return. He got sick of all the red tape and ongoing hassles with the Tax department.

Fitting how a 70yo senile old hag with a wicked mouth supports the knob that is sending the country into record debt.....

If you paid tax in Australia for the year ending 2008, you should have, and if you didn't you can apply.

It wasn't a bribe; it was to stimulate the economy. And it did. We have not had the recession most of the rest of the western world has had.

I would vote for him again tomorrow.
Just because of 900 Aussie dollars? That's how much, 500 Euros? If our politicians just knew it was easy like that to avoid recession. Although I assume there have been other reasons Australian was somehow spared.

Umm, yes. Our dearly beloved leaders thought that splashing 900 on each yob, yokel and travelling Irishman would save us . . .

    Dimwits, the lot of them
