The Bible: just a random Blog ?

It is clear that the bible is full of myths, contradictions and nice story telling, but can you actually believe it or based your faith on it ?

    hopefully not,

back in the days, there was no Internet, so technically the collective knowledge of the world was held in the Bible and other scriptures around the planet. The Bible was just another blog with a story to tell. It could have been on facebook, or better yet it could have been the whole Internet.

Is there a point to the Bible ? or is it just a silly ancient blog ? Jesus on Facebook ?

I thought the bible was made-up 300 years after Jesus had died - didn't a bunch of blokes decide what went in it & what didn't in a massive squabble?

Got to be a load of bollocks.

It's like asking parliment today to decide what constitutes the 'God's word'

Took years for the "church" to approve the "official" word of god. Most of the debate centered around what should not be included. Any text which did not support the prevailing dogma of the church was of course omitted. One very obvious omission is the the teachings of John the Baptist. The man who baptized Jesus and who Jesus claims was the basis for his teachings. Seems ole John's beliefs were not in line with church "doctrine".

The bible does contain supposed eye witness accounts by prophets, disciples and the like. But as with most eye witness reports, there are very conflicting accounts. The different accounts of the life of Jesus as told by Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are prime examples.

Myth becomes truth when repeated enough.

Yes. There is a theory Jesus may have spent many years in India learning from Buddhist monks. Many of his teachings are fundamentally those of Buddhism. Coincidence? Who knows but nothing is recorded about Jesus's life from the time he was a small child until he was about 35 years old.

I don't believe this has ever been suggested. Historic content of an unconventional and unorthodox model usually requires a little deeper thought. Indoctrination and repeated promotion is what some become.

There is no historical evidence nor foundation that such a 'Jesus' even existed, less the nearly fairy tale of a story. So when the conditioned infrastructural model is disrupted or challenged.......??

Do you read Hebrew, Aramaic, and Koine? or do you get your ideas from turgid potboilers like "The Bible Code"?

Yes, there is. There isn't much but he was mentioned briefly in some contemporary Roman writings.

rumors has it that he was a drunk and a mad man, and as a Jew, he went against the other Jewish sects, that's why the other sects made him the sacrificial lamb eventually

he might have been the first official "Revolutionary" on records,

back in those days, Religion and Politics was one of the same

First on record? You certainly mean from a Western-Christian circle of perspective, yes?

"Jesus was a bastard born of adultery"
"Mary was a whore: Jesus (Balaam) was an evil man"

in Ancient times, a virgin was a woman who didn't have children yet,

so a whore could technically be a virgin
