I did see a few blacks, latinos and Asians in the crowds. But, I'd say they were 99% honkey. Why is that then?

Whipped up by conservative commentators and bloggers, tens of thousands of protesters staged "tea parties" across the nation Wednesday to tap into the collective angst fueled by a bad economy, while President Barack Obama vowed "a simpler tax code that rewards work and the pursuit of the American dream."
The rallies came on a symbolic day: the deadline to file income taxes. Protesters even threw what appeared to be a box of tea bags over the fence onto the White House grounds, causing a brief lockdown at the compound before the package was declared not dangerous.
Obama acknowledged the protests. "For too long, we've seen taxes used as a wedge to scare people into supporting policies that increased the burden on working people instead of helping them live their dreams," he said. "That has to change, and that's the work that we've begun."

The Tea Parties are a good start, but where were they people years ago?

The sheople often wake up after it's too late.

Where were these people in 2006 when Medicare-D was passed?

Where were these people 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 years ago?

I did for 10 years and stopped it in 86 and still hid out and was watchful and stayed ahead of the investigators of IRS for the next 2 years and then went bankrupt for $287K, had nothing in my name and was granted that plus state taxes for all states I had worked in Oregon , Utah and California..
I would not have done that but I had paid 37k on money I made out of the country and my daughter was shacking up with a hippy and because he didn't have any income he got a refund of a couple or 3 grand and then they had tied up my bank accounts because I had missed paying them $1500 on my O'seas money so said "Watch this" and would pay 10% of an estimated income of 50k and then go exempt for the rest of the year and never file, so I saved on income tax but over paid on SSA which was OK with me. and I was making between 8k and 12k a month.

Here's A truly amazing piece of audio -- a CNN reporter (using that phrase very, very loosely) interviewing a man with his child, and seemingly personally offended that someone could actually criticize the government spending that's going on. She demonstrates her complete lack of understanding of history and instead reveals her pro-Obama views as she calls the protests 'anti-government,' 'anti-CNN' and the best for last... These people are very ignorant, to say the least. Obama is a capitalist, and is a capitalist in the same mold of former Keynesian-influenced politicians.

"Socialism" is the new buzzword for the partisans. Where were they Tea Party people over the last 60 years?

As I said before, what about Medicare-D? Social Security?

Both should be cut. And I don't support the stimulus nor the bailouts, either.

Most of us have paid for this all our working lives, and even when I worked in Viet Nam I was paying SSA and US Income taxes.. I started paying at 15 years of age and I paid max every year til I was 66, what have you paid so far asshole.

The ratio for worker to reciever of benefits = insolvency.

SS is bankrupt. And Medicare is worse.

I started paying at 16 and paid more after I started working full-time at about 22. I stopped paying about 8 years ago, thank lord.

SS and Medicare is SOCIALISM. It's destroying the country.

Anybody under 75 years of age should be cutt off SS, 100%.

If the projections are correct the eligibility retirement age will have to be moved up. Folks already retired will not be cut off. Another thing to consider is eliminating this:

Every year as long as I can remember or cared to look, the general fund has been getting into SSA accounts for billions of dollars every year, and I have never seen where they have ever paid back a fucking dime.
But because of milky believing some asshole hollering about it being broke he will believe anything if something is published and has a link, no linky, No believey.
