Where did you read this Mr Earl.

Even fans of Bobby Jindal claim he's unelectable on the National stage of the Presidency. The more national exposure Jindal gets the less appealing he'll be.

Palin, electable on the national stage? I do not think so, after her poor campaign style and lack of co-operation with the McCain campaign. Plus, she's very ignorant.

Republicans' new hope comes up with a fizzer

THE reviews were swift and scathing: Off-putting. Amateurish. Disastrous.
And those were fellow Republicans reacting to Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who delivered the nationally broadcast follow-up to President Barack Obama's speech to Congress. (Not surprisingly, Democrats echoed the criticism.)

Even allowing for hyperbole, it was not, by most accounts, a winning performance by Mr Jindal. Touted as a rising Republican star and a possible contender for the White House in 2012, the 37-year-old Governor quickly learnt the spotlight can singe just as easily as illuminate.

Fellow conservatives criticised his mannerisms, his delivery, even the backdrop for his 10-minute speech (a spiral staircase in the Governor's mansion in Baton Rouge). "You can't go on TV and counter Obama with that," said radio hostess Laura Ingraham. Philip Klein of the American Spectator said Mr Jindal seemed more like a high school student delivering his valedictory speech than a prospective Republican leader.

Mr Jindal, the son of immigrants, combined inspiring anecdotes from his life with a recitation of familiar Republican arguments against big government and taxes. There were few specific solutions for the nation's colossal economic mess.

"The way to lead is not to raise taxes and not to just put more money and power in the hands of Washington politicians," he said. "The way to lead is by empowering you, the American people. Because we believe that Americans can do anything."
David Brooks, a columnist for The New York Times, said Mr Jindal had delivered a "stale" message promoting the "insane" notion the Republican Party has become too moderate.

Mr Jindal had his defenders. "What Jindal lacked in 'presence' he made up for with transparent believability," American Spectator senior editor Quin Hillyer wrote.

Ah, not even our resident hag can complain about Fox being part of the libbie press:
Fox News commentator Juan Williams focused on Jindal's delivery.

"It came off as amateurish, and even the tempo in which he spoke was singsongy," Williams said, adding that the content of the speech was "very simplistic and almost childish."

I follow other news sources. Occasionally I read articles from MSNBC, and CNN, but I don't hold them to high regard.

I read other material. I don't watch TV, and have not watched it for probably 3 years now.

Set for a second term? Not true. That's too far down the road.

You contribute very little, although your attempts at humor make you charming.

No doubt about it a preemptive strike and they will attempt to make the image stick. Jindal is 37. He has twenty more years of refining himself to be that shining beacon in the spirit sapping darkness cast by the left over the world.

A shadow once spread from the Atlantic shores of France eastward. And was it was darkest east of West Germany. Thank God for Reagan. And now leftist doomsayers like Chuck Schumer, like a whispering Grima Wormtongue, is trying to bring the darkness back in on us all.

“We’re about at the tail end of the Ronald Reagan era, where his ideas — fresh and, even as a Democrat, I’d say, many of them needed at the time — have just lost steam, lost resonance,” Schumer said.

jindal is a liar. no ifs ands or buts about it.

in his speech the other night, bobby "brady" jindal said,

During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walked into his makeshift office I'd never seen him so angry. He was yelling into the phone: 'Well, I'm the Sheriff and if you don't like it you can come and arrest me!' I asked him: 'Sheriff, what's got you so mad?' He told me that he had put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up ready to go - when some bureaucrat showed up and told them they couldn't go out on the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration. I told him, 'Sheriff, that's ridiculous.' And before I knew it, he was yelling into the phone: 'Congressman Jindal is here, and he says you can come and arrest him too!' Harry just told the boaters to ignore the bureaucrats and start rescuing people.
    but guess what?

    he's completely full of shit.

his spokesperson is now trying to spin out of the lie by saying that bobby....

didn't imply that an anecdote about battling bureaucrats during Katrina directly involved the governor or took place during the heat of a fight to release rescue boats. The spokeswoman, Melissa Sellers, said the story Jindal told in his response to Obama actually took place some days later in Lee's office -- though still in Katrina's chaotic aftermath -- as Lee was "recounting" his frustrations with the bureaucracy to someone else on the telephone.
Ben Smith's Blog: Jindal aides clarify Katrina story - POLITICO.com

    jesus, what a phony.

so much for jindal being the bright, shining light of the GOP.

    NEXT!

I think it's nice for the Republicans to choose not only someone of Indian background, but also someone with a severe learning disability.

The GOP is threshing around for a new generation of spokespeople and leaders to lead them into the 21st Century, and in turn appeal to a broader electoral base.

It will take a while, and involve several fals starts. Palin?- fuggedaboudit. I doubt she'll even stay Gov of Alaska for long. Jindal? He's eloquent and young at least, but his wacky Evangelist views won't help.

Right now, it appears the GOP is united only on sniping at the Obama bailout, but is split on it's future direction and with no clear Leadership.

    .
    Yes.

The GOP has many fractions. Some really do not have much in common with one another, yet they need to be in the GOP tent for the GOP to win Presidential elections. What do fiscal conservatives have in common with Evangelical & Fundamentalist GOPers? Zip. There are other groups needed as well for a Republican candidate (plus the large pool of Independents in the Center who go both ways).

Congressional districts are another matter. These divergent groups are not needed in a Congressional district that averages 500,000 citizens, located in many different economic and geo-graphical locations.
