Wages and Pensions have played their part in GMs and Chyslers problems, ( Greenfield Startups are always more efficient) but lack of attention to customer needs ,shoddy products , tunnel vision marketing thinking that large pickups are the only way to huge profits, This only applies to the US, GM and Ford make excellant cars in the rest of the world, All in all just shit management,

I think GM will go into bankruptcy, and that Chrysler will end up being bought. It will be interesting to see how this shakes up the US automakers, as this will likely lead to the elimination (or at the very least a drastic reduction) of the legacy costs for GM. It will be interesting to see how the Chrysler buy-up deal effects their legacy costs, and what Ford will then be forced to do to try and stay on even footing with a GM without any legacy costs.
