I am in favor of abolishing Congress & the Supreme Court.
Then bambam can rule by decree. One party rule carried to the extreme.

Not a good month for the messiah, is it? B*tch-slapped by McCrystal, put down by a judge (his stock holdings made him do it? That is so funny) and now he's at war with AZ, where he will get slapped down again. I'm almost starting to feel sorry for him. Almost. He's not only the laughing stock of the ROW, now he's the can being kicked across the nation. Yep, Hillary is looking pretty good right now.
Rumblings in the White House... Is this perhaps a chink in the armor... No reason has been given for his resignation...

White House budget director leaving in July
(CNN) -- Peter Orszag has told President Obama that he plans to leave his position as White House budget director in July, an Obama administration official said Monday evening.
Orszag, 41, has been a key part of Obama's economic team, serving in his role as director of the Office of Management and Budget during the passage of the economic stimulus bill and this year's health care reform legislation.
As budget director, he crafted policy, but also was a prime negotiator with congressional Republicans.
As one of the main negotiators in the final hours before lawmakers passed the economic stimulus package, Orszag tried to bridge differences and was keeper of the ever-changing numbers, often crunching them in his head.
Orszag headed the Congressional Budget Office for almost two years before Obama tapped him to be the White House budget director shortly after the 2008 presidential election.
The new role thrust Orszag -- a man accustomed to working behind-the-scenes analyzing economic data -- into the public spotlight.
He also worked at the Clinton White House as special assistant to the president at the National Economic Council and served on the Council of Economic Advisors.
Orszag is known in the halls of Congress for wearing cowboy boots with his business suit and has quoted country music songs during budget hearings.
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

^ Heard that today...still haven't heard any specific news about why.
^ One would hope that he resigned as an act of contrition for being one of the architects of the Obama bailout plan and ongoing, record deficit spending programs... Perhaps he peered behind the curtain and caught a glimpse of the puppet master pulling Oz's strings... Nah, too poetic... Probably got a better offer from a think tank...

Here: If bamboy does NOT fire the General, he will underscore the fact that he is a wimp.
If he fires the General, the enemy will rejoice. Well, they'll rejoice and laugh their butts off anyway.
Their mtg just ended but no outcome as yet. I reckon McChrystal resigned.

But he's currently IC Afghanistan, and they are using a strategy of his devising. Any decision whether he should stay or go should probably revolve around the relative success of his mission so far- which ain't great. Actually, it looks like Joe Biden was right, and his Generalship was wrong on the strategy front. Unless we see a real turnaround, which doesn't look likely.
BO just held a televised news conference... McCrystal is out, Patraeus has been nominated to return to the Afghan theater...

When photographs
become metaphors
Three presidential incidents captured on film have become metaphors for a presidency. Gerald Ford's fall down Air Force One's gangway is (unfairly) emblematic of what the media portrayed as a his Stumble-Bumble performance. The "Killer Rabbit" attack on Jummy is the perfect metaphor for his four-year term in office, especially pulling the US out of the 1980 Olympics - to punish the USSR. But this! This is the stuff of legend. A fly on s__t! It's so strikingly appropriate that Obama will never, ever escape it. Click for the slide show. .

A Deplorable Bitter Clinger

Agree with your first statement, SB. He broke the chain of command, but I really feel he wanted out and this was a way to do it. He was in charge of Black Ops and his whole career has been SpecOps. That's where he works best; a real maverick.
But, sorry, COIN was NOT his strategy -- it was and is Petraeus'. If obama had given McC the 60,000 troops he wanted when he wanted them, the lanscape might be different today. Blame the CinC, not McC.
So, a good thing Petraeus took a step down to take care of the Afghan theatre. There is no way the US can win this nation building exercise and withdraw by July 2011. Impossible. And, Biden is never correct in military matters.![]()
WASHINGTON: Barack Obama has won plaudits from both sides of US politics for his swift action in removing the commander of coalition forces in Afghanistan.
Commentators also backed the President's choice of successor, General David Petraeus, who they praised as a loyal patriot and architect of the Iraq war turnaround. ''A safe pair of hands,'' noted a Pentagon insider.
Bipartisan applause for Obama's swift action
One of the few things they can agree on. I wonder why?
the general's remarks had undermined ''the civilian control of the military that is at the core of our democratic system''.
No Politician wants to see the Military getting too big for it's boots. And of course, in countries where the military has the ascendency, no General wants to see Politicians getting too big for their boots.

^ I look at it this way: Peace comes from strength.
This whole media frenzy is hilarious. The msm finally has something positive to say about their dear leader to take folks minds off the economy, the spending, the Gulf spill, and illegal immigration. Who else was he going to pick, SB? Biden?
Obama just appointed an ex- Houston cop who supports sanctuary cities to head Immigration at $180k a year. He is ignoring Gulf pleas to continue building booms that the Fish & Wildlife folks just voided. A fed judge over-ruled his moratorium on deep-water drilling. Several more states are aiming to implenet their own immigration policies and the folks of one Nebraska city have already voted for one in their town. He took Medved to a burger joint for lunch (hek, that's as cool as the video collection he gave the Brit PM). The military and terrorist enemies are all snickering at his inability to lead and command respect. And, his disapproval rating is now higher than his approval score:
The NBC/Wall Street Journal public opinion poll released today shows that President Barack Obama has reached his lowest approval rating since taking office in January of 2009. The poll shows that 48% of people disapprove of the job Obama is doing as President of the United States while only 45% approve.

This is huff'n'puff's fluff on the burger meal:
Don't kid yourself. When you heard that Obama went into Ray's Hell Burger in Arlington, VA this afternoon with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, you got a smile on your face. For men, it reminded us of our burger man-dates, where we prove our masculinity to society by eating pounds of processed bovine. Obama is that true generous friend as well, as he paid for Medvedev's meal. (What a guy!!!!)

McChrystal screwed up by slagging off his boss, that's a bit of a no-no in any company, let alone the US military. Obama was thrown a curve ball and has reacted by making a good decision to put somebody supremely qualified and with unique experiences into the position.
That has nothing to do with immigration, drilling or cheese burgers no how much you'd like it to.

Tell me when the world has never had war. A country, kingdom, or empire fights to secure or expand its borders. It then sits back on its laurels and offers love and benevolence and benefits to its people, who wallow in nana peace land and squabble over welfare rights and the size of banana imports in the belief that peace will endure. 5555555 You better hit your history books, Ant. You think we are safe today? Bunch of ninny Western countries giving away all of their rights and hard-earned rights to leeches who will suck the life outta these nations, while they cry to the UN. How's Iran and its nuke prog working for ya? How about muslims immigrating to the west and demanding their own laws? Aww, we have to be nice to them, the UN says so. Get a grip.
Peace from strength does not mean bullying others; it means we have the strength -- fek with us and we will retaliate.
My point exactly. There's always some tyrant or 'Enemy of Freedom' that needs a jolly good bombing.Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon
