    Obama's Foreign Policy

With all the blind warm, fuzzy, and feel-good fashion that's being alloted towards the President-elect, some will be watching and skeptical about the "boy wonder" and is "progressive" approach to American long and nasty history abroad. If one would care to imbibe into reality and understands how these things really work - expect President Obama to perpetuate the same old American establishment policy. Because, there is really nothing terribly special about his mind set either. American Presidents, regardless of their political ideals and identity, are forced to play this game. One thing that is steeped in the American character...there is always some "new hope" candidate on the horizon and this person will save the day with all their insight and progressive values. President Obama is no worse nor better than any other President down the pike - particularly when it comes to how they see the world and American foreign policy. Same old establishment nonsense....

I think first on his agenda he'll appoint high ranking members of Al Qaeda to top cabinet positions. After that he'll put a 90% tax rate on earners over 250k and donate the money to his country of birth, Kenya. At some point he'll kick elderly rich republicans out of their hospital beds to make way for getto crackhead welfare cases.
He'll probably make a pilgrimage to Mecca at some point in his first term as well. I suspect he'll take Israels large aid packages and give them to Hamas, leading to the death of Israel.

after the arrogance and incompetence displayed on the world stage over the last 7 years, the obama administration has its work cut out for it in foreign policy. however, one thing he has in his favor is that many in the international community view his election as an opportunity to heal the wounds and bridge the divides.

This is the true starting point that many want to ignore. He has to dig his way out of the ditch G.W. Bushwipe doug for all Americans.

No. Not Anti-American. Just critique. One cannot examine such reality without being branded Anti-whatever?? Actually, it would behoove you to take a couple steps back and explore what is real and what is true. NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE. The American Presidency is historically associated with the ruling class establishment. He will abide.....

That's the point! Better for him to leave the world alone. This whole fantasy that the "new hope" will bring a better future. What a buncha bunk. People are sheep and catatonic.

It Really All Comes Down To.....

OK. Give the gent a little room. A couple years. If there is some change towards foreign policy {I doubt}, I'll even apologize. It has nothing to do with the man. The system needs to change. Kool-Aid drinkers....

When do you think that he will keep his word and "Bomb Pakistan back into the stone age?

You know how them Arabs have been fighting/killing each other for 7000 years and why should he be any different just because he says he is a nigger and claims to be an unknown race called "African American".
But he has a touch of African blood from his paternal grandma, and in the USA if you are 1/32 coon then you can claim the full benefits of affirmative action.

For starters. Obama's win is real and it is true. If the election of a black man doesn't somehow suggest to you there hasn't already been a profound change in the mindset of Americans then you are the one that needs to brush up on your history.

This OP along with many others you have started is just another example of your propensity to spiel cynical opinions veiled as "facts".

Obama's single defining characteristic is that he's black. He's convinced a whole bunch of people that's enough to be a good president.

He's inexperienced, his record is humdrum, he's not been pivotal in a single piece of legislation.

But he's black and now he's the president elect. I wish him well.

I certainly wouldn't be concerned with the inexperience aspect. All first time Prez are inexperienced. One should expect the new President to surround himself with the same apparatus of "experts" and "advisors" that is expected.

    I agree.

Obama will appoint many experienced people in State, DoD, NSC, and have experienced advisers on foreign policy.

Not much will change. BO is however, smart, and is a reasonable.....so far.

"You tend to campaign in black and white. You tend to govern in gray."

Bush was White, privileged and Republican. I wished him well too when he was elected.

Lets see how this Black man does compared to Bush.
