McCain doesn't know the difference between a Shiite and Sunni, once assaulted a Nicaraguan diplomat, thinks that Iraq borders on Afghanistan, chose an inexperienced bumpkin to be a heartbeat from the presidency, challenged an Arizona congressman to a fight in 2006, abandoned his wheelchair-bound wife to marry his mistress, finished in the bottom 1% of his college class and supported 90% of President Bush's legislative initiatives. But I'm so offended by Obama's 'lipstick on a pig' statement that McCain will certainly get my vote now.

^That's just one example of what seems to be a trend on here of late.

When Obama's candidacy was announced there was a sudden rush of blog cut 'n pastes, all sorts of tenuous character assertions and statements (even threads about his plane), a multiple page thread attacking his wife, and other assorted unsubstantiated guff.

All of a sudden there seems to be a reversal and butter-wouldn't-melt-in-their-mouths condemnation of what are perceived to be personal attacks on Palin. Strikes me as being all very double-standardish.

And then theres Cheney-

Vice President Dick Cheney said the same thing about President George W. Bush's rival, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, at the close of the 2004 campaign. On Kerry's wavering stances on the war, Cheney said:

"As we say in Wyoming, you can put all the lipstick you want on a pig, but in the end of the day, it's still a pig."

Post a picture of the US flag and it gets deleted, make a joke about "niggers" or insult another poster for their personal circumstances and it's left standing.

Quoting someone's false assertion does not make it true. Try to find some worthwhile sources and use your intelligence to judge what you read before quoting it.

Don't be surprised if lefties propose per diem benefits if ordinary workers do their work at home rather than commute to their office; 'global warming', 'peak oil' and all that. It's forward thinking.

in response to the phony story which this thread is based on, i hope the obama goes after the sexism charge head on.....it's time middle america learned that mccain called his wife an cnut and a trollop.

Let's hope, for the sake of the rest of the world which relies on the good sense of the US government, that lipsticks, pigs and banjo players don't play too great a part in the next US election.
