McCain doesn't know the difference between a Shiite and Sunni, once assaulted a Nicaraguan diplomat, thinks that Iraq borders on Afghanistan, chose an inexperienced bumpkin to be a heartbeat from the presidency, challenged an Arizona congressman to a fight in 2006, abandoned his wheelchair-bound wife to marry his mistress, finished in the bottom 1% of his college class and supported 90% of President Bush's legislative initiatives. But I'm so offended by Obama's 'lipstick on a pig' statement that McCain will certainly get my vote now.

The absolute worst Obama could be accused of here is plagiarism.

Perhaps this is a Rovian flack tactic to give the Faithful a protective feeling for poor Sarah before Troopergate and it's full implications start to hit Dogfart, N Dakota. It couldn't possibly work on anyone else.

^That's just one example of what seems to be a trend on here of late.

When Obama's candidacy was announced there was a sudden rush of blog cut 'n pastes, all sorts of tenuous character assertions and statements (even threads about his plane), a multiple page thread attacking his wife, and other assorted unsubstantiated guff.

All of a sudden there seems to be a reversal and butter-wouldn't-melt-in-their-mouths condemnation of what are perceived to be personal attacks on Palin. Strikes me as being all very double-standardish.

    And then theres Cheney-

Vice President Dick Cheney said the same thing about President George W. Bush's rival, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, at the close of the 2004 campaign. On Kerry's wavering stances on the war, Cheney said:

"As we say in Wyoming, you can put all the lipstick you want on a pig, but in the end of the day, it's still a pig."

Obama's remark about 'Lipstick on a pig' sparks debate -- chicagotribune.com

Strange how we never heard anything about this either from the 'Leftie' media.

interesting that you would take this position now.....i just did a search, and there are 26 threads with 'obama' in the title...and that's not even counting the ones like, 'is america ready for a muslim president, etc...

in fact, there's a thread devoted solely to faux obama bumper stickers....and for reasons that are certainly beyond me, it hasn't be moved to the jokes section or merged into the funny pics thread.

    Moderating is odd here.

Post a picture of the US flag and it gets deleted, make a joke about "niggers" or insult another poster for their personal circumstances and it's left standing.

Back on topic: "Michelle Obama called Sara Palin stupid, Barack Hussein Obama calls her a pig, and you doubt that Barack Hussein Obama hasn't been, and isn't, the dirtiest politician in recent memory?"

Heh...it's gonna get even better as we approach Nov! Palin is gonna carve both BO & Biden up!

Quoting someone's false assertion does not make it true. Try to find some worthwhile sources and use your intelligence to judge what you read before quoting it.

more lies from boon mee and the rabid blogs he gets his daily postiing points from.

it never changes with you, does it?

not only has the mccain campaign changed their tune and have now stated that they don't believe obama was not talking about palin, but your preposterous link doesn't say anything about michelle obama calling palin stupid.

you repeatedly commit the ultimate political forum sins boon mee.....you lie and you're boring.

    Obama on the Letterman show:-

Obama: “Look, this is - if you - this is sort of silly season in politics - not that there’s a non-silly season in politics.” (Dave, audience laugh) “But it gets sillier. But, you know, it’s a common expression in at least Illinois, I don’t know about New York City. I don’t know where you put lipstick on here.” (audience, Dave laugh) “But in Illinois, the expression connotes the idea that if you have a bad idea, in this case I was talking about John McCain’s economic plans, that just calling them change, calling it something different, doesn’t make it better, hence, lipstick on a pig is still a pig.”

Dave: “Now what I like about this scenario is because they demanded, the Republicans demanded an apology.”

    Obama: “Yes, they did.”

Dave: “So that means there had been a meeting at some point somewhere along the line.”

    Obama: “All of them.”

Dave: “Yeah, they got together and they said, ‘You know what? He called our vice presidential candidate a pig.’” (audience laughs) “Well, that seems pretty unlikely, doesn’t it?”

Obama: “It does. But keep in mind that, technically, had I meant it that way, she would have been the lipstick, you see?” (audience, Dave laugh) “But now we’re…”

Dave: “I don’t know, you’re way ahead of me.” (audience laughs)

Obama: “Yeah, the failed policies of John McCain would be the pig.”

A lot of wind over precious nothing.

Should have a look at Palin claiming per diem travel expenses while staying at home with her children instead of working at town hall. Typical Repug bible-basher hyporicy - stealing from tax-payers and being against supporting people who really need it because that would be "socialism".

Quite true, but what is revealing is how thin skinned and reactive Barry seems to be.

He's also loosing his characteristic "poise" which got him to where he is.
Barry's gone from being a "croissant" (something rich and exotic) to being a "Croissan'Wich"(something you get at a Burger King drive-through window)

Don't be surprised if lefties propose per diem benefits if ordinary workers do their work at home rather than commute to their office; 'global warming', 'peak oil' and all that. It's forward thinking.

Let's hope, for the sake of the rest of the world which relies on the good sense of the US government, that lipsticks, pigs and banjo players don't play too great a part in the next US election.

Gibson was acting like he was giving her a pop quiz.
    ...
GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.

    GIBSON: Exact words
Gibson lied. He didn't quote her accurately, bullied her, and ABC edited that out for the West Coast.

    In addition...

Edited out of the West Coast feed -- and yet they refused to actually issue a correction.
    ..
...it's ABCNews editing out Palin's correct objection that those aren't her "exact words," and Gibson's cocksure insistence they are indeed her "exact words."
    ...
We won't admit we were wrong, but how about if we hide the evidence we were wrong and even delete your statement that we were wrong? How's that work for ya? You end up looking like you agree with our mischaracterization, and we look like we didn't insist we were right even though we were wrong! You look worse, we look better! Everyone wins!
