    Ted Kennedy

    Ted Kennedy is not well.

What about his problem a few years ago?

While Ted Kennedy and I are at polar opposites of the political spectrum, I wish the man all the best in his recovery.

Perhaps that's what is markedly different between conservatives & moonbat liberals. When Nancy Regan or Dick Cheney etc fall ill, the vitriol knows no bounds over at the Huffpo or Kos Files...

    ...& perhaps here as well

    HB,

That's a good post topic, though I'm not sure I understand which problem you refer to. Kennedy represents the end of an era. Yet, at the same time, we now hear comparisons of JFK to Obama, and his wife to Jackie. Very interesting. And, of course, Maria Shriver is Republican Arnold (Governator) Terminator California Governor's wife.

I'm not sure what the effect of Ted Kennedy's decline or death would be on American politics?

Sen. Ted Kennedy resting after being rushed to hospital after seizure

Sen. Edward Kennedy, patriarch of the famous political family and one of the nation's leading liberal voices, was rushed to a hospital Saturday after suffering a seizure.
The 76-year-old Massachusetts lawmaker was stricken at the family compound in Hyannis, Mass. An 8:19 a.m. 911 call summoned emergency workers, who hustled Kennedy to Cape Cod Hospital, officials said.

Kennedy also survived the 1969 Chappaquiddick car accident that killed Mary Jo Kopechne

Even somebody's illness is an excuse for your partisan hyperbole attacks on "liberals", eh?

    Heh...exactly my point, eh?
Us Conservatives exhibit Christian Charity when someone falls ill as opposed to left-wing moonbats.

That's my point, more unsubstantiated partisan hyperbole.
You are hi-jacking this thread with your shite.

Not that there was much of an OP to discuss...

Have a look what your beloved blogs have to say about Ted, or pop over to jane to have a look at all the well-wishes of your fellow Christian right-wing extremists.

^^That was because the OP should have been the lasting impact and implications of Ted Kennedy's decline or death. I've tried to help out the OP to refine it.

I hope the OP takes the clue and gives us more.....

I can appreciate what the man has accomplished in Congress. However, he did have one little problem a few years ago.

Federal Bureau of Investigation - Freedom of Information Privacy Act

If that had been me under those circumstances, at least I would have been paroled by now.

    I don't understand the OP.

Anyway, I don't know why Ted Kennedy gets a lot of attention by political radio hosts. He's a Senator. One out of 100. He has a vote like everyone else and can sponsor and create a bill like the rest.

Like all humans, he may pass away as he nears the life expectancy age range.

Damn, I hate saying anything in this thread.

    I ain't that smart.

However, if it had been hillbilly involved in the death of the young girl; hillbilly would never had a chance to participate in Congress.

Not much different than Thailand I think...

Ted aka 'The Swimmer' Kennedy is a bloated old drunk who killed Mary Jo K. as effectively as if he did it with his own hands. When his car went off the bridge he bailed and left the poor girl. Only his money and family influence save his sorry ass...

Ted Kennedy certainly represents the old guard in Washington. I don't suppose he'll ever live down the Chappaquiddick situation, but he'll be long remembered as a distinguished spokesman for the left and long time crafty Washington insider.

I don't think he ever had legs (and he knew it) to ever be President, unlike his two brothers, even though he did give it a shot.

Kennedy deflected supporters who urged him to run for President in 1972 and 1976 by citing family concerns, in light of the fact of his brothers' assassinations. He finally threw his hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination in the 1980 presidential election by launching an unusual, insurgent campaign against the sitting president, Jimmy Carter, a member of his own party. Despite much early support, his bid was ultimately unsuccessful.
Carter was highly unpopular at the time of Kennedy's announcement, and Kennedy could have expected to do well against him, but the Iran hostage crisis gave President Carter a large boost in the polls that lasted for several months. The upswing in Carter's popularity knocked the wind out of Kennedy's candidacy, which was predicated on dislodging an unpopular president. In addition, the Chappaquiddick incident still dogged the senator, and his opponents often invoked the highly recognizable melody of Simon & Garfunkel's 1970 hit song "Bridge Over Troubled Water" to remind voters of the tragedy and scandal.

Chappaquiddick definitely stop any chances of Ted Kennedy being a serious contender for the President. Was he ever electable? I'm not sure.

In 1980, he had a brief chance.

He never was Presidential - most people are not.
