milkman, then you think the same of the teacher down south in Thailand that just went there to teach kids and got beaten into a coma and then died months later. If you going to compare the Japanese backpacker in this scenario then you have to include the teacher down south. These so called PEOPLE live with archaic ideals and don't care about ANYONE else. Why is that YOU pc nutters are so quick to defend these animals?

if memory serves, nick berg the war profiteer already has a thread dedicated to him.
this thread is about john mccain's junkie wife and her memory problems.
although please feel free to add her 'good points' at your leisure....but you might want to try and avoid that she's a home wrecker.

looks like cindy mccain found something else to steal (beyond someone else's husband, and narcotics)....
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/16/us...lvqCUFUmMAEsVgUntil early Tuesday morning, visitors to John McCain’s campaign Web site could find seven of “Cindy’s Recipes,” among them three elegant and healthful offerings: passion fruit mousse, ahi tuna with Napa cabbage slaw and farfalle pasta with turkey sausage, peas and mushrooms.
Only problem was, all three, listed as favorite family recipes of Cindy McCain, Mr. McCain’s wife, were taken verbatim from the Food Network.
what will she steal next?
or a better question...what won't she steal?

^^ That's the campaign PR department. I doubt Cindy has ever cooked a meal in her lifetime.
From The Times-
"A few years earlier she had visited Bangladesh with a different charity and decided on the spur of the moment to help a little girl with a cleft palate whom she met in Mother Teresa’s orphanage.
The McCains eventually adopted the girl, named her Bridget and raised her as their daughter. She is now 16, but during McCain’s ugly presidential primary fight against George W Bush in 2000, voters in South Carolina began receiving telephone calls suggesting the senator had fathered an illegitimate black child.
The authors of the smear have never been identified, but Bush was the beneficiary and went on to win the South Carolina primary and the Republican nomination. The McCains have never publicly blamed Bush and their relations have been outwardly cordial. But Cindy recently admitted that she keeps a “grudge list”.
Cindy McCain, now 53, claims she has no interest in policy making - “I am not the legislator in this family. He is” - and that she intends to keep busy running her charities and her family’s company. As first lady, it is clear that she would play a key role. Acknowledging that McCain had made many enemies in Republican ranks, she added: “The only person my husband can trust is me.” "

Actually the authors of that smear campaign have been identified. It was Carl Rove and his dirty tricks department. These people are about as low as you can go in politics- true human Filth. This tactic- of under the guise of 'Polling' mounting a gossip and innuendo campaign- is one they used several times.
No matter who might get the next presidential ticket, I wouldn't be sitting too easily if I were a senior member of the Bush administration. McCain has no love lost there.![]()
I'm not sure what to make of this example of marital bliss:
"Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

I think McCains an OK bloke- I've got nothing personal aganst him. I like Hillary less and less, by contrast.
Obama is comfortably my choice as Pres though.
he does seem to be a nice enough sort....but he doesn't have the temperament, intellect, or energy level to be president.Originally Posted by sabang

Lots of personal attacks on the thread starter and other diversions, such as 'humour' about Hillary in this thread, and a noticable absence of positive comments about Cindy.
I wonder why that is?
Wouldn't want to let on Michelle is miles ahead in every imaginable respect, eh?

^ & ^^ Sure, and if Obama gets into office, guess who's going to have a finger in all of his decisions? Can't see that happening with Cindy now, can you? Same as Michelle if Hilly gets in -- Bill's strategies will be all over whatever Hilly does.
what is this based on?Originally Posted by Jet Gorgon

just admit it or show one shred of evidence that michelle obama will have any influence on "all of his decisions".
From the little I have read, Cindy comes across as a liability, Michelle as an asset and support, with the Clintons it is a two-sided sword, some will see the hubby as a plus, others as a minus, but you know you will vote for both of them if you do.

^ & ^^ You guys can't be that stupid to not see that, can you?

The whole issue of the role of the First Lady (or perhaps First Gentleman) in American politics is interesting. Traditionally, most First Ladies up to and including Barbara Bush were mostly non-political in their hosting duties, charitable and other causes, and the Presidents rarely seemed to publicly consult them on matters of State.
With the emergence of highly educated lawyer "career women" such as Hilary and Michelle some different dynamics are at work.
In fact, Hilary as First Lady, chose social causes that were highly political, such as women and children's issues. She was also much more directly involved diplomatically in forming her own relationships with world leaders such as Tony Blair, something traditional First Ladies would never do.
You could say that she was butting her big nose into areas she didn't belong in her typical opportunistic fashion with a plan to later capitalize on these experiences politically, which in fact she did. On the other hand, you could say she redefined the role of a political wife and First Lady to be much more prominent in her own regard and to reflect the empowerment of American women generally. You choose.
Now, with respect to Bill as First Gentleman, that is a tremendous advantage in my opinion, to the extent that Hilary would heavily rely on his counsel. Having a former President as First Gentleman would be unprecedented, and especially one that is considered so effective.
With respect to Michelle, she seems to fit more the mold of Hilary and I think it's logical and reasonable to assume that she would similarly seek to be a more politically active First Lady given her background.
The same argument can't be made for Cindy McCain, as apart from business aspirations, she does not seem to have her own political agenda and would likely be a more traditional First Lady.
Finally, with respect to this OP, it is clearly an effort to besmirch Cindy McCain and impugn her character. For what purpose, I can only guess it is partisan, as usual. Personally, I don't find Cindy McCain in the least bit interesting.
Michelle Obama is interesting and potentially politically explosive as a First Lady and I always enjoy a good surprise.
this thread was started in direct response to the michelle obama thread. you know the one where you posted....Originally Posted by chinthee
