Although, it also seems like there is a genuine case to answer here with activists chanting 'kill the boer, the farmer' to a packed stadium. That sort of behaviour should result in arrests, as Trump says.

I have mixed feelings about the theatrical ambushing of Ramaphosa. It does not seem entirely dignified, although dignity is often lower down on Trump's list of priorities. Trumps strange brand of political theatre is strangely engrossing even when you secretly know you should not be enjoying it. I thought Ramaphosa handled it very well.

I'm guessing he would have been prepped for it. It would be very harmful domestically for a visiting politician to not handle it well. The prepping might even be like preparing for an important debate. For example, someone role playing a rude Trump.
