    On Line Media

I rarely buy a newspaper these days- everything you need to catch up with news & current affairs is online.

Here's a few newspapers I pretty much read online daily:-

Sydney Morning Herald - Business News, World News & Breaking News in Australia The Sydney Morning Herald.
Coming from Aussie, I like to catch up with domestic news and sport. But the SMH is not a bad paper allaround- it is pretty balanced in it's coverage and the web site is pretty easy to navigate. Some good editorials too.

Guardian Unlimited home | Guardian Unlimited The Guardian.
This to me is the best online resource from the UK quality press. I particularly like it's editorials and lifestyle sections, plus of course to catch up with whats going on in Old Blighty. Incidentally, the BBC's website is shite. Surprising really, because it is such an iconic news organisation, but I wouldn't bother with it.

Al Jazeera English - Front Page Al Jazeera, from Qatar.
Maybe controversial to some (I mean how dare people from the Gulf region have their own free press), but Al Jazeera has a good website. Of course, Middle East affairs are their forte', but coverage is well balanced and they have a wide range of viewpoints in their Editorials. I have read stuff by Zionist Israeli's on Al Jazeera- it's by no means all Jihadist or even Islamic points of view. Well worth a look see, especially as so much is happening in the ME these days.

Theres a few others that I check our regularly, will look at them in the next post .

    Worth a Look

Bangkok Post Main Entrance Page The Bangkok Post is really only worth a look if you live in Thailand. At least I don't have to go to the shop and buy it. The odd decent travel review, and somewhat toned down news on the domestic front.

The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia Unfortunately you have to register for the New york Times, but it's easy enough and free. Some good editorials, and it's got all of the coverage of world events you need. I used to read it daily when I was in the investment biz, now I scan it every couple of days. certainly when it comes to things like US politics it is an authoritative source, and the website is well laid out and easy to navigate. Loads of content too. I would think an overseas American should be reading this one, in particular.

Haaretz Daily Newspaper Israel, Israeli News Source Haaretz, Israel. This is Israels second paper after the Jerusalem Post, it has the reputation of being more liberal. Given all the crap that is happening in the ME, it's well worth checking here periodically to see their take on things. It's coverage of the Annapolis summit was second to none imo. It's pretty balanced too- this is no Zionist Rag.

Asia Times Online :: Asian news hub providing the latest news and analysis from Asia The Asia Times is not strictly a newspaper, it is a web current affairs journal. But, if you're interested in curent affairs it is well worth a look. Their strength is of course Asia, but Asia including Sth Asia & the ME. Some good financial & economic analysis, and some pretty opinionated editorial pieces on international politics. Interesting reading.

Anyway, if anyones got any other Web based current affairs sites that are good, well interested to hear.

p's- The Economist' Web site is absolute shite, which is a damn shame. Worse than the BBC- the type is so small I can't even read it.

Al Jazeera are getting a very good reputation for having real journalistic integrity. It is also unavailable in the US except via web feeds. Funny that.

There's even a guy who lobbies all the TV providers in the US to try to make sure it won't be broadcast. Fucking retard.
