Today, he and wife Queen Camilla were photographed leaving by car from Clarence House, on their way to Buckingham Palace. (The London royal residences are about nine miles apart.)
Buckingham Palace announced yesterday that the king had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer,” identified during the treatment of benign enlarged prostate in late January. Following the news, King Charles left the royal estate in Sandringham to return to London, where he is now undergoing treatment as an outpatient.
The monarch’s younger son, Prince Harry, flew into London on Monday to be with Charles amid his health crisis. Heir to the throne Prince William, meanwhile, has taken on further engagements to support his father as the king steps back from some of his duties to heal.
While some of the king’s public engagements have been postponed, he “will continue to undertake state business and official paperwork as usual,” the palace said.
