You don't have a very good imagination.

$8 is nothing. Which is why one day they will double it. $16 is nothing too I guess. Make it $20.

I could totally see some poor hippie backpacking dross being in a predicament about the entry fee when they arrive.

And some ppl will hate the idea of an entry fee on principle.

There are reasons why Thailand hadn't done this 30 years ago.

Because they are serving you directly in some capacity and you are impressed with that service. In a way you are their boss during your encounter and if they went above and beyond you are just giving them a bonus.

Departure tax increase from Bt.500 to Bt.700 in 2007.

Cannot see them raising the entry tax willy nilly as you claim they will.

^ if they fronted up and were honest with the fee paying public i have no problem, they want to raise more tourist Dorrahs. They aren't tho, they have come up with come convoluted excuse to justify the tax and everyone can see it for the bullshit it is, it just reinforces the image of the country and its Govt.

Stay at home with NPT then:
Fifty-six countries charge entry and/or exit fees. These fees range from $14 to $100, with an average of $26.77.

Make your mind up, it was Milton Keynes before, i'd just like some consistency. Btw Helmut tweaking my retort about you going on like 70's prog rock record shows your Germanic lack of imagination.

You may be God in the world of commerce with senior executive positions in multi-national companies if your self described pen pictures are to be believed, but frankly you are an intellectual dwarf when you try engaging in the international language of business. Thinking about it, it is odd for such a hugely successful executive to miss the obvious points being made in English or maybe not when you find yourself teaching Soft skills in Malaysia to thrusting young executives in the local market

i expect a multi quote cascade
