    Julian Assange, on the Cross

    Talking 'bout a Revolution??

Julian exposed the truth. He exposed it over and over and over until there was no question of the endemic illegality, corruption and mendacity that defines the global ruling elite. And for these truths they came after Julian, as they have come after all who dared rip back the veil on power. “Red Rosa now has vanished too. …” Bertolt Brecht wrote after the German socialist Rosa Luxemburg was murdered. “She told the poor what life is about, And so the rich have rubbed her out.”

We have undergone a corporate coup, where the poor and working men and women are reduced to joblessness and hunger, where war, financial speculation and internal surveillance are the only real business of the state, where even habeas corpus no longer exists, where we, as citizens, are nothing more than commodities to corporate systems of power, ones to be used, fleeced and discarded. To refuse to fight back, to reach out and help the weak, the oppressed and the suffering, to save the planet from ecocide, to decry the domestic and international crimes of the ruling class, to demand justice, to live in truth, is to bear the mark of Cain. Those in power must feel our wrath, and this means constant acts of mass civil disobedience, it means constant acts of social and political disruption, for this organized power from below is the only power that will save us and the only power that will free Julian. Politics is a game of fear. It is our moral and civic duty to make those in power very, very afraid.

The criminal ruling class has all of us locked in its death grip. It cannot be reformed. It has abolished the rule of law. It obscures and falsifies the truth. It seeks the consolidation of its obscene wealth and power. And so, to quote the Queen of Hearts, metaphorically of course, I say, “Off with their heads.”

Sabang reports here on TD one side (the view of a crazy socialist psychopath ).
So let me give it a try:

Nils Melzer comes from Switzerland and was a professor for international humanitarian law at the Universities of Glasgow and Geneva. For twelve years he mediated in war and crisis areas for the International Committee of the Red Cross. And he has been the Special Rapporteur on Torture for the United Nations Human Rights Council for almost five years. Now Melzer has written a book about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

He considers what happened to Assange and what role the international community is playing in it to be one of the greatest judicial scandals of all time.

Amazed how he doesn't consider working with Putin to hack and release private emails and interfere with another country's election to not be a criminal act.

Another soap-dodging lefty who hates America perhaps?

Yes, I can feel you cringe from here. Not him again. The great unspoken. Lets just not speak about it, e'hhh. Not polite. Like Palestine. Just plain Rude to bring it up.

Probably even ruder to point out that the Julian Assange case has made hypocrites of us all, of our governments, our legal system, our very democracy. And of course like the shrill, twisted coven of Macbeth's witches that we have become, we respond by pointing our increasingly malevolently witches tit at 'others'- others in particular that will not be defended by our controlled media system. Au contraire- they are members of the same coven. And, chutzpah at it's finest, 'we' then complain that We are not being taken seriously, We with our Hollywood commitment to Human rights, and the Rule of Law. Monty Python could have a lotta fun with this.

Sure, he's on the Cross because of us, and our collective apathy. So don't bother getting all sanctimonious on me about how nasty other people treat their Truthtellers.

You sound somehow amazed that a rapist could be a criminal in other ways.

^ Sure, that's true as well. I can hardly lecture 'others' about Freedom of the Press, or tolerance of dissidence these days as a Westerner. We're no better.
How about a prisoner swap- Alex Navalny for Julian Assange?

    Don't be so fucking absurd.

In Chinastan, posting a cartoon of Mr. Shithole as Winnie the Pooh would land you in jail.

What sort of idiot compares that with the West?

You don't reckon a defamatory cartoon can land you in jail in the West? One things for sure, camera footage showing unarmed journalists (among others) being hunted down and shot by a US helicopter gunship can not only land you in jail for a long long time under the most absurd of precepts- it can in fact cause you to be held in jail indefinitely under no charges whatsoever. As is the case right now.

So go and lecture them in the bars 'arry, tell them camel jockeys about your superior justice system and the rule of law. Good luck.

P.S. Assface was charged hours after he left the Ecuadorian embassy, so you're either lying or stupid.

I often discuss the merits of legal and political systems with Muslim friends, occasionally even over a beer. I also discuss football, hot women, and other topics such as news and current affairs, global and local, depending on the individual.

Are you fucking stupid or something? Do you think Muslims are incapable of discussing anything because of their religion?

I suspect the sort of intelligent Muslims you meet in these type of bars think that of you- although the 'religion' in this case isn't Christianity, it is the Koolaid cult. Slurp away. But the Koolaid seems only to work on the Choir these days.

Oh, don't mean to bother y'all but here is the USA's latest affirmation of it's commitment to Freedom of Speech, and Press freedom-

Everything The West Claims It Values Is Invalidated By Its Treatment Of Assange

The western world has a very high opinion of itself and its supposed values, and its treatment of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange makes a lie of it all.

Truth. Justice. Freedom. Democracy. We are taught from an early age that these are the sacred values our society upholds with the utmost reverence, and that we are very fortunate to have been born in a part of the world which holds such virtue.

You see this haughty self-righteousness pop up on a daily basis in the most influential circles on earth, from the way US presidents are still to this day referred to as the "leader of the free world", to US Secretary of State Tony Blinken recently babbling about the "shared values" of the "free and open rules-based order", to Magnitsky Act manipulator Bill Browder recently referring to the US-centralized power alliance as "the civilized world" in a bid to get Australia up to pace with the rest of the empire's China hawkishness.

All of this is nonsense. All of this is fake. Everything the western world believes about itself and its values is invalidated by its treatment of Julian Assange.

The western world does not value truth.

If the western world valued truth, there wouldn't be a journalist languishing in Belmarsh Prison for publishing it.

When harry asks so politely (as usually)...

Yes please, here is one just fresh from Czech Republic:

Today also included a trial with political adviser Walter Kraft, who was tried for articles he wrote against Islamization and migration three years ago.
And here is a reaction of a publicist to the sentencing:
The Municipal Court in Prague today upheld the verdict against Walter Kraft. This opens the way to criminal prosecution of others.

Don't imagine any emotional court action. The Walter simply read the prepared verdict. My summary:

    1) The President of the Chamber referred to the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. It is true that they have long wasted no time with the human rights of the indigenous peoples of Europe.

    2) It was further stated that if the prosecutor acquires a subjective feeling that a speech is hateful, it is a sufficient basis for conviction.

    3) Evidence is superfluous in such a case. It can be proved whether the defendant really wrote it. But there is nothing to deal with the hatred or danger of the text. The feeling of a prosecutor is enough.

    4) The prosecutor present expressed the view that requiring the military to use military weapons in border protection should be punished in itself.

    5) Walter's lawyer Petr Holý rightly remarked that from now on anyone can be convicted at any time for any text. It is enough to find at least one prosecutor who declares that he finds it hateful.

When I heard it, my first thought was, what they do when they come for me ... I've got a number of texts, almost every day somebody writes mail that what I wrote is actionable, sooner or later somebody's he will file a criminal report… and then it will only depend on the relevant public prosecutor if he ate well, if any hooligans did not spray his car, if his mistress gave him… and decides on the mood if it was incitement to hatred…

Iranian propaganda sites are no more "press" than Fox News, but of course you're too stupid to realise that.

Where is this "defamatory cartoon" that put someone in jail?

Says some deranged conspiracy theorist bint who writes just the sort of shit you want to believe. What did you google "articles that say bad things about the west because they're bad + julian assange"?

She's also got some looney 9/11 theories, so you probably have her picture on your bedroom ceiling, eh?

No surprise there. From populist lefty nonsense to the sort of whackjob space cadets the three stooges worship, not to mention the Russian bot farms, I'm just surprised the number is that low.

What drug taking philanderer said this?

“The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie--deliberate, contrived and dishonest--but the myth--persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."
