Nah, you have to read some of the posters' inane and purely racist dribblings here to know that isn't the truth - as for the second part of your sentence, have you not noticed chico ranting on about NZ and others about the US, UK, Oz etc... even though they have little or nothing to do with the places
The Simpsons says it will stop using white actors to voice non-white characters
The Simpsons is ending the use of white actors to voice characters of colour, producers of the animated comedy say.
Key points:
- Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer voice several non-white characters on the show
- Other white actors on other animated shows have already stepped down from voicing characters of colour
- Earlier this year Azaria said he would no longer voice Indian-American character Apu
"Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters," producers of the show said in a brief statement.
The statement did not elaborate, but the move follows years of public pressure about the television show's Indian convenience store character Apu, who is voiced by Hank Azaria.
Azaria said earlier this year that he would no longer play the character, which has been criticised as a negative portrayal of Indian-Americans.
He has also voiced the characters of black police officer Lou, black power plant employee Carl Carlson and the Mexican-American Bumblebee Man.

Seems like your overwhelming intellectual superiority did the trick again.
oh you make me Yawn............
I used Australia as an example because you all seem to be talking about Australia in the last pages I read. Arguably a bad example because they themselves displaced an already preexisting culture, though I have to admit that it did happen at a time when we were not as sophisticated about such things, and cultural norms did indeed include such racist notions as "Manifest destiny" and "white mans burden"
In the interest of full disclose, and keeping with my accurately observed "long winded" attitude towards expressing opinions, I need to disclose that I am not Australian , and that all information I have about them comes from movies such as "Kangaroo Jack" and "Crocodile Dandy 1, 2 ,and 3" .
As David said , and i agree, "Probably applicable to many Nations, many Cultures " so please send your criminals to my home country the US, where any diversity balance they disturb can only be for the best.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
I wonder what the Chinese & many other Asian shopkeepers, diligently going about their business and seeing their kids through school, think about all of this brouhaha.

Just in case you missed it the first time
Probably alternately bemused and over the whining from entitled Boomers just like the rest of us.Originally Posted by sabang
I don't think they are going far enough. The initiative should include ethnicity, for example , for an Eskimo cartoon character (are still allowed to say Eskimo?) they need to hire an Eskimo of the same age and gender as the cartoon character. If one can not be found all filming should be suspended until such time as one is. , And Australian male cartoon character voices should only be done by Paul Hogan wearing a leather vest and sporting a huge knife . As for Australian women, only bikini clad Victoria's Secret model eating scrimp can be employed
Anyway, you get my point.

And only Peter Sellers can voice a Frenchman.
Oh the old man stop it
Any Simpsons fan worth their salt knows the story of one of the Simpsons ancestors falling in love with a runaway black slave and having a family with them, the Simpsons are demonstrably mixed race.
