My point was that 13,000 plus driving a Bentley that wasn’t his would have aroused the suspicions of any official who wasn’t a total dope.

Bentleys are 10 a penny in the UK. To cyrille and 'arry, up in nakorn nobrot and more used to their step throughs and little suzukis, a Bentley is a rare sight indeed, but in the UK you can buy a decent enough used Bentley Continental for less than 10K. The 13,000 was probably to cover the petrol costs of driving it down to Spain. They are a rather thirsty car, and 13k is just a months wages for many brits with a good job or even a self employed plumber or sparky in the south of england. Even your hero, Jeremy Corbyn, who has never done a days work in his life is reputed to be worth around 3 million.

Robinson, love him or hate him, is a marked man and the authorities harrass him at every opportunity. Orders from above and all that. Not all of it is justified.

We live in interesting times. Although it's not illegal to carry £13,000 in cash, carrying as little as £1,000 or more on you risks having it seized by the cops under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
