I never really paid much attention to Uh Oh, his Americastani shit put me off so I just ignored has dribblings. But in the last few weeks he has shown himself to be nuts. I think he is off his meds or on some kind of uppers. Maanaam is known for paragraphs, Uh Oh puts him to shame.

A zealous computer scientist then looked into this anomaly and realized that the internal data of the AU were massively diverted. Every night, the secrets of this institution, according to several internal sources, found themselves stored more than 8,000 km from Addis Ababa, on mysterious servers hosted somewhere in Shanghai, the Chinese megacity.


The new building, "China's Gift to Friends of Africa" , was donated just six years ago. It has been fully equipped by the Chinese. The computer systems were delivered turnkey. And Chinese engineers have deliberately left two flaws: backdoors, which give discrete access to all internal exchanges and productions of the organization.

CGN unveils solar power unit

CGN New Energy Holdings Co Ltd's Delingha 50 megawatt thermal power plant entered operation on Oct 10 in Northwest China's Qinghai province.
It is the country's first large commercial parabolic-trough concentrated solar power plant, and its launch makes China the eighth nation in the world with such a facility, said Li Yilun, executive director of CGN New Energy, a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Power Corp.


This is a landmark for the company's solar thermal energy development after more than ten years of development, Li said during a news conference held in Beijing on Wednesday.


According to Li, CGN's solar power business currently covers 29 province-level regions across the country, with an installed power generation capacity exceeding 2.58 million kilowatts, ranking it No 3 nationwide.


Li said that compared with other photovoltaic power, the concentrated solar power features continuous and steady generation of electricity, enjoying greater development potential.


Built on a sparsely populated plateau, 3,000 meters above sea level, the Delingha power plant occupies 2.46 square kilometers. The plant first connected to the grid on June 30.


According to Wang Zhigang, managing director of the Delingha project, the solar power facility is located on a plateau with cold temperatures and low oxygen levels, and it is capable of producing 200 million kilowatt hours annually. It can replace more than 60,000 metric tons of standard coal each year and 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, he said.


Construction on the main part of the project commenced in August 2015. It is the country's first solar power plant to be connected to the power grid. It is also the first solar thermal power project to receive a preferential loan from the Asian Development Bank, according to CGN.


CGN has also been exploring other forms of new energy, including nuclear power and the country's first large scale offshore wind power project in Shanghai, Li said.
Joseph Jacobelli, a senior analyst of Asian utilities at Bloomberg Intelligence, said the project is evidence that Chinese electricity producers remain very keen to develop clean energy.


"Chinese power producers are all seeking more advanced solutions," said Jacobelli. "We would expect that companies such CGN New Energy will continue to seek out more advanced wind, solar and energy stor-age technologies in coming years."


The chances are high that these Chinese clean energy companies will continue to expand abroad, as many companies are stepping up their participation in overseas markets, actively investing in assets abroad buoyed by the China-led Belt and Road Initiative, he said.

Yanjun Xu faces four charges of conspiring and attempting to commit economic espionage and theft of trade secrets, according to the indictment. DOJ officials said the indictment marks the first time a Chinese Ministry of State Security operative has been arrested and brought to the United States to face charges. He's charged with working to get aviation employees to inadvertently reveal trade secrets to the Chinese government.

"This unprecedented extradition of a Chinese intelligence officer exposes the Chinese government's direct oversight of economic espionage against the United States," said Bill Priestap, assistant director of the FBI's Counterintelligence Division, in a statement.

Security threats from Chinese companies building 5G networks could end up "putting all of us at risk" if they are not tackled quickly, according to a former security minister.


Speaking to Sky News, Admiral Lord West, a former First Sea Lord who served under Gordon Brown as a security minister, urged the government to set up a unit reporting directly to the prime minister to monitor the risk posed by Chinese equipment in 5G.

5G has been hailed as the next great leap for mobile communications, enabling everything from smart cities to hologram calls.

However, the best 5G technology comes from Chinese companies, raising the fear that China's government could have ground-level access to - even control of - the UK's critical data infrastructure.


"We've got to see there's a risk," Lord West said. "Yes, we want 5G, but for goodness sake we need to do all of these things to make sure it's not putting all of us at risk."

In April, the United States banned Chinese multinationals Huawei and ZTE - both specialists in 5G - from selling equipment to the federal government.

In August, the Australian government banned the same two firms from supplying technology for its 5G network, a decision foreign minister Marise Payne described as necessary for "the protection of Australia's national security".


In a statement, Huawei called the decision "politically motivated, not the result of a fact-based, transparent, or equitable decision-making process," adding that "there is no fundamental difference between 5G and 4G network architecture... 5G has stronger guarantees around privacy and security protection than 3G and 4G".

Robert Hannigan, former director of GCHQ, told Sky News an outright ban in the UK would not make 5G safe.




"The best companies in 5G are probably the Chinese ones and there aren't many alternatives," he said, before warning that new measures were needed to test the security of the network.

"We do need to find a way of scrutinising what is being installed in our network, and how it is being overseen and how it is being controlled and how it's being upgraded in the future. And we have to find a more effective way of doing that at scale."


In April, GCHQ's National Cyber Security Centre warned ZTE could pose a national security risk to the UK.

Two months later, the UK's Huawei Cyber Security Evaluation Centre, a group set up by the government to monitor the Chinese firm, announced that it had "only limited assurance" that Huawei posed no threat to national security

"It was a bit of a warning to Huawei," said Mr Hannigan. "They needed to get better at cooperating and take this more seriously."


The difficulty for the Huawei Cyber Security Evaluation Centre is knowing for certain that the code it vets and approves is the same code that is going into networks.

"That's been a persistent problem," said Mr Hannigan. "That needs more work."


The government has put £200m into the development of 5G. Last month, the first 5G pilot centre launched in the West Midlands, testing the technology before a national roll-out.

BT, which uses Huawei to supply parts for its network, told Sky News that it would "apply the same stringent security measures and controls to 5G when we start to roll it out, in line with continued guidance from government".

SAIC VW starts work on $2.5 billion China plant in Audi pivot

Volkswagen AG’s (VOWG_p.DE) China venture with SAIC Motor Corp Ltd (600104.SS) has started building a $2.5 billion (1.9 billion pounds) new energy vehicle (NEV) plant in Shanghai, which will make VW’s luxury Audi AG (NSUG.DE) brand cars, a possible first for the venture.

The new plant is a key step for Audi to diversify production of its cars in the world’s largest car market from its long-standing local partner, China FAW Group Corp Ltd. This shift has been delayed amid resistance from local dealers.

SAIC Volkswagen said the new plant would have an annual capacity to make 300,000 cars and begin production from 2020. Audi sold 481,387 vehicles in China from January to September this year.

Audi unveiled the plan to bolster ties with SAIC in late 2016. Earlier this year the Germany luxury carmaker bought a 1 percent stake in the SAIC Volkswagen venture, paving the way for the joint venture to produce and sell Audi cars.

Volkswagen currently gets a larger proportion of the proceeds from the 50-50 tie-up with SAIC than from its 40 percent stake in the venture with FAW.

SAIC Volkswagen said in a statement on Friday the plant would cost 17 billion yuan ($2.5 billion) and would make VW and Skoda models as well as Audi cars. It will help VW tap China’s fast-growing market for NEVs, a category comprising electric battery cars and plug-in electric hybrid vehicles."
