I understand there is a frequent poster here who has never been to Thailand or Asia one would assume people like that would listen closely to the older better educated and traveled generation. I was around the world twice before I turned 22. The experience changed and matured me. I'd listen to the old hands who had fought with the French in Vietnam and I learned a lot.

My point was, before you attacked my credibility, that the lady although she worked hard when in the USA she didn't seem to have a lot of work in Europe but a lot of money, great quarters and a lot of time for travel. Didn't strike me as a very strenuous job for the military.

What's the difference between NorK totally controlling the news, Prayut telling people to stop reading the news (as well as controlling it to a large degree), and Trump labelling the news repeatedly, ad infintum, as fake?

12 Billion in aid for farmers, who are the biggest benefactors of state welfare and make up a big part of his base, affected by punitive tariffs that the orange BS artist imposed. No, nothing stinks here.

    ^^little more........

Trump: “Tariffs are the greatest.” Also farmers need $12 billion in aid because of tariffs. - The administration plans an aid package to shore up the agriculture industry.

The administration’s plan, which has yet to be formally released, would reportedly be aimed at stabilizing the agricultural industry through three programs:

    • Direct financial assistance for farmers.
    • A purchase and distribution program, where the government buys up surplus agricultural products and redistributes them for low-income food assistance.
    • A trade promotion program.

    Subsidies: https://www.vox.com/2018/7/24/176074...-emergency-aid

SOYBEAN MARKET CARRIES THE DAY TUESDAY - $12 BILLION PAYMENT TO AGRICULTURE COULD HURT PRICES, ANALYST SAYS.

Regarding the big news of the day, maybe in years, President Trump cutting a $12 billion to the agricultural sector for damage done by trade tariffs, North doesn’t see any price boost from it.

“The deal isn't done, so we are not likely to see much by way of immediate response.”

North adds, “Subsidies do not drive prices higher. Quite contrary, they give no signal to slow down production and long term may impact prices more negatively.”: https://www.agriculture.com/markets/...-higher-monday

Trump will declare himself a hero for rescuing farmers from a problem he created, whinge that he's not being given enough credit for it by the 'Fake News' and, most stupid of all, his supporters will believe every word of it.

    And now this...

2.5 Billion Pounds of Meat Piles Up in U.S. as Production Grows, Exports Slow

    From the article;

The Trump administration recognizes the financial hardship livestock producers could face as a result of retaliatory tariffs, and farm country will be better off under new trade deals the administration is pursuing, USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue has said.

The USDA has examined drawing upon Depression-era programs that permit borrowing of as much as $30 billion from the Treasury as a way to compensate farmers for tariff-driven price declines, and Mr. Perdue has said he aims to have a plan ready by this fall.
Going back to Depression-era programs already. What a bunch of idiots. So much winning.

I'm pretty sure it was this thread and with SKkin that I had a dialogue predicting the good news that beef prices would soon be down dramatically. Couple or three weeks ago.

The other thing that these idiots never mention is that tech is driving the stock market right now and has been for sometime. Drumpf has nothing to do with the surging tech sector that is driving the economy in fact the opposite can be argued. Every time a trumpanzee squawks about the stock market and trump I just laugh. Thank google for this last record high.

Has dairy got an import tax increase too? I think so, which means quarter pounders with cheese will be 99c! Even better and even more profit to big pharma (reference to above)

More money for armament is a nonsense

NATO have spent $900B for armament, for military, for wars. And the bad Russian spends some $60B. In this situation when it's said to us we have to spend more money, this is a sick, full madness..., says Oskar Lafontaine (die Linke) in German TV show.
