you've already posted this slippery sentence earlier....but what you fail to acknowledge is that the investigations haven't even begun in earnest.

if there is nothing to hide then everyone should be in agreement that an independent commission should be convened to fully investigate the extent to which the russians impacted the election results.

but eventually that will change. there are plenty of events that could unfold which would change that dynamic: hard evidence of impropriety in the election, a recession, an inadequate response to a terrorist attack, etc...
