OK, all you Ann Coulter detractors...cherry-pick that quote apart and find one mistruth, exaggeration, distortion or so-called outright falsitie[sic], eh? Don't forget the Breck Girl's assertion that the WOT is simply worthy of a 'bumper sticker'...heh
There is a soupcon of distortion in there.

Have there been any serious "terror attacks" in the US since 9/11 ? The fact that the Fox "threat meter" is stuck on "high" doesn't mean anything.

Obviously some of the "coalition of the willing" have had a different experience (UK , Spain , Morocco....).

I'm not sure why the "surrender" custard pie should be thrown at anyone who questions the wisdom of US actions. Is debate a no-no in the US?

Obama came in for a bit of stick for suggesting cross-border incursions into the Pakistani tribal regions.

Whoever is the next president of the US will inherit the catastrophic situation the current bunch of clowns have engineered.

The overwhelming fatigue felt by the American people will increase the "bring our troops home" pressures.

This will not result in a "surrender" per se. More likely a face-saving "peace with honour" scenario. Helicopters taking off from the embassy roof with desperate local employees hanging on to the skids.

Just another chapter in the "gung-ho yankees exit stage left when the body count gets too high" saga (Vietnam , Lebanon , Somalia.....).

^Haven't you been listening to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, Michael Moore, Ward Churchill, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Rosie O'Donnell just for starters.

Ann Coulter is a legitimate voice.

I don't consider any of the above, a legitimate voice.

    Pandering politicians, and entertainers.

Listening and reading the above buffoons, is why Americans are so lost on issues that affect them.

    I'll agree with that.
MSM affords them far more credibility than they deserve.

At least Ann Coulter does fit into this mould.

    What Ann said this week

"Liberals know they're losing the demographic war. Christians have lots of children and adopt lots of children; liberals abort children and encourage the gay lifestyle in anyone with a flair for color."

"Democrats are counting on illegal immigrants to be the future of their party, their border guards for the new socialist state. At least liberals have a clear mission and know what they're fighting for. Their plan is to destroy America."

1 Down, 11,999,999 to Go - HUMAN EVENTS

The focus of Ann's bile in this weeks Human events column is illegal immigration. She takes her customary swing at Democrats and liberals as above, yet her beloved Bush administration has effectively granted amnesty to America's 12 million II's. She even conceds that 'amazingly' the Clinton administration was tougher on II than the current one. But to Ann, it's all still a liberal plot to destroy America. Classic Coulter logic.

She wants II's deported, which is bound to appeal to blue collar republicans. To back up her 'argument', she gives a list of some recent heinous II crimes such as child molestation and murder. The Elite's who actually fund and run the Republican party are not listening- they like the cheap labour.

Some of Ann's readers have got the plot :-

"I love Ann. I'd jump in front of a flying liberal pie for Ann. I'd even wrestle a DailyKos-loving, CAIR punk to the ground for Ann. But Ann knows that it is American business that has laid the foundation for the illegal alien invasion, not just the soulless liberal hordes. Without a resurgence of patriotism on the part of the business-class in America, the demographics are definitely shifing in the direction of us becoming the next banana republic. I say shame and shun the business class, and purge the conservative movement of their BS that they 'need' these people. George Washington is turning over in his grave."

    I agree with the above.

Business, big, medium, and small want illegals.

    Business benefits.

Honestly, I think it's too late to turn back, or even stop the influx.

To go with the one that you already invented for her?

Speaking of making things up, you still owe me an apology for calling me dishonest and telling lies to support that slanderous accusation.

I know you have no class or morals and are barely intelligent enough to breathe reflexively so I'll take it as already offered.

    Thanks, you are forgiven.

I wonder what her religious views are; if she's a creationist she's kept quiet about it, because arguing for it on television would make her look stupid.

Pundits like her should not be treated with kid gloves. She wants attention, she likes to destroy people's reputations.

I'd like to see her head-to-head with Michael Moore or Jon Stewart, both of whom are very knowledgeable, very funny, very sharp, and generally nicer people, imho. She wouldn't stand a chance.

Here she is head to head with Al Franken:

Radar TV : Radar Online: Al Franken Delivers KO Punch to Ann Coulter During Debate

Understanding the Republican Right is simple: they're greedy. They LOVE money. They also tend to be xenophobic and religious. But their motivations are simple, which sometimes has them looking hypocritical. For instance, it's never surprising when a Republican turns out to be a closeted gay (it's almost a cliche these days: Fresh Intelligence : Radar Online : Sen. Craig's Long Affair with the Closet Longstanding Rumors About Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig's Sexuality Now More Plausible) but we never hear of a prominent right wing Republican who turns out to be a closeted socialised healthcare provider, never happens.

But since the Dems are already pro-choice, anti-discrimination, etc., it's harder to pick holes in their platform. Hence, pundits like Coulter are reduced to insults and pillory, which in the end is just background noise, and in the long run cannot be taken seriously as it does not illuminate practical policy.

    Even Right-Wing Bloggers Bash Coulter

    WHAT'D I SAY?
    Coulter

Since dropping the F-bomb heard 'round the world at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday, Ann Coulter has had a rough few days. Three advertisers have dropped from her site, and three newspapers have decided to no longer run her column. Even her fellow Republicans couldn't keep their mouths shut about how far the radically conservative commentator went this time.

After the jump, read what her alleged base is saying about America's most hated but lusted-after right-wing "fag" hag ...

The gay reaction: Andrew Sullivan, the gay, Roman Catholic conservative behind the Daily Dish, condemned Coulter. "I watched Ann Coulter last night in the gayest way I could. I was on a stairmaster at a gym, slack-jawed at her proud defense of calling someone a 'faggot' on the same stage as presidential candidates and as an icon of today's conservative movement." Sullivan concluded his lengthy post on the subject with: "She said—and conservatives applauded—that I and so many others are not men. We are men, Ann."

Coulter should walk the plank: Minnesota-based right-wing blogger Ed Morrissey, of Captain's Quarters, sarcastically applauded the conservative pundit, saying, "Yeah, that's just what CPAC needs—an association with homophobia. Nice work, Ann." Morrissey proposed the bigoted blonde be dropped from CPAC next year. "Ann Coulter can be an entertaining and incisive wit ... she can also be a loose cannon, and CPAC might want to consider that the next time around."

The violent approach, courtesy of Michelle Malkin: "Her 'faggot' joke was not just a distraction from all the good that was highlighted and represented at the conference. It was the equivalent of a rhetorical fragging—an intentionally tossed verbal grenade that exploded in her own fellow ideological soldiers' tent ... [she] sullied the hard work of hundreds of CPAC participants and exhibitors and tarred the collective reputation of thousands of CPAC attendees."

Conservative pile-on, courtesy of John Hawkins, RightWingNews: "What's on tap for next year? Will she drop the N-bomb? Will she use the C-word to describe Hillary Clinton? Whatever her plans are, after being burned twice in a row, CPAC shouldn't invite her back next year."

Testify! Reverend Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, says, "One should never resort to vicious name calling or personal attacks in an attempt to prove a political point."

Got one of them actual opinion things for that, Booners?

What does a lack of conviction have to do with anything Ray said? Particularly in light of the article:

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's elections chief said Wednesday.

Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state attorney's office by Friday.

    ...

a letter was sent to Coulter on March 27 requesting that she clarify her address for the voting records "or face the possibility of her voter registration being rescinded." Three more letters were sent to Coulter and her attorney, but she has yet to respond with the information requested, Anderson said...

    It's not over for Coulter

    From August 1st 2007-

While most expected the conservative pundit to be off the hook for good when the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office punted a voting fraud probe in April, the Florida Elections Commission now is investigating.

Coulter, a constitutional lawyer, voted in the wrong precinct in a Palm Beach town election in February 2006 after registering at an address that wasn't hers.

Actually, hasn't Coulter also previously said that women shouldn't even be allowed to vote?
