Dianne Techwei, a School of Environmental and Biological Sciences sophomore, said she was not angry, just frustrated.

She said people were clapping about things that are not true.

“He said it is in black people's nature to be angry. I am not an angry person,” she said. “It was revealing to see people who already had these thoughts. He was just there to confirm it.”

It was not so much about Yiannopoulos, but what he revealed about the Rutgers community, said Jannah Handy, director for Intercultural Initiatives in the Office of Student Affairs.

This is a microcosm to the utter horseshit being used to garner sympathy from people who don't know what is going on. These nasty little sociopaths and borderline personalities have astounding influence far beyond college campuses. No mention of the histrionics of the group of protesters who smeared themselves with fake blood and left a mess behind in that article, nor of the Q&A session after that included questions from all viewpoints.

I don't like that speaker's style much, but he does make a lot of sense in many areas, and on a university campus ideas should be shared - this seems to be of great distress to the PC crowd who want educational institutions to have a smaller discourse space, one which they dictate. Sadly, being dense, the PC lot don't see the irony of their 'position'...

Edit to add: it doesn't have to be binary. I wouldn't agree with all of his (or many of his) political or personal views, but he's explication of discourse and especially how PC discourse is anything but liberal or progressive was very accurate, imo.

He is open to debate any opposite or opposing views, but these guys refuse to debate their positions and simply resort to trying to stop him from speaking, he is exposing their tactics.

He is an advocate for free and open speech and the rigorous debate and vetting of ideas. There is a legitimate purpose behind what he is doing.

BTW they won't debate any of their positions las they simply do not stand up to scrutiny, so they hide hehind pc and lie and scream sexist, racist, bigot etc. PC is about stifling the free exchange of ideas.

The Transgender issue is not an issue I follow.

What percentage of the population claims "no" gender? Can't this person, or these people just pick a restroom to use? Good ol' Uni students want change!

SEATTLE -- Students at the University of Washington are taking a stand, calling on officials to make way for more gender-neutral restrooms. Transgender students say there are simply not enough on campus.

Currently, officials say each new building on the UW campus includes at least one gender-neutral restroom. However, students are calling for more of the facilities in older buildings. The restrooms will benefit people like UW senior Oly Pearce, who was born a female but does not identify as female or male.

If you don't have sex like they describe, with affirmative consent at every step, then its rape, at least it is for the man.

Unfortunately the crazy is leaking out into reality. This is the latest brainwave from the American Law Institute.

The American Law Institute will vote in May on whether to adopt a model penal code that would make "affirmative consent" the official position of the organization. Affirmative consent — or "yes means yes" — policies have already been adopted by many colleges and universities, and have been passed as law in California and New York.

A source within ALI has confirmed to the Washington Examiner that the model penal code on sexual assault that was discussed at last year's meeting will be voted on at their annual meeting this coming May. Last year, the draft proposal was met with opposition from ALI members, including a female former prosecutor who called the draft "really disturbing."

And of course the real reason for championing this surreal nonsense.

Besides turning every sexually active person in America into a rapist (and a rape victim) overnight, the affirmative consent policy would be a disaster in divorce court. Accusations of child abuse already fly in bitter divorces, and giving angry spouses a cudgel like this would do major damage (but would be a boon to divorce and trial attorneys, like many of the members of ALI).
