All you state is correct but they now have complete and unopposed control of Syria. Not so much as a whimper from the west. When the summit popped up live on the BBC I went over to CNN. Thought for sure they would be carrying it as well. Not a peep.

The west has all but quit the region. Russia and Iran have filled the vacuum left and no doubt increase their influence in future. Israel must be getting very nervous.
