^ What you're failing to acknowledge is the systematic leftist lowering of education standards, the government infringement of personal liberties and the wanton corporate co-opting of the politicians.

Personally I think the NRA also failed by not sticking to their guns on being firearms safety educators. The NRA was largely forced into the taking big money from corporations to defend against gun grabbing politics.

Another huge part of the problem; legislators enacting socially harming laws which require militarized law enforcement and an industrialized prison system to house mostly non-violent criminals on drug offences which shouldn't exist in the first place.
The social harm done by government is frankly impossible to calculate.
