Thread: Time for a World with no Countries?

Would the world be a better place with no countries at all? No boundaries, no visas, no governments fighting other governments for what they (businesses, religious nutters) want.

Imagine the peace the world would enjoy?

Yep, and the Yanks to keep their noses out of everybody else's problems. That would be a good start.

From what I have been reading they have enough problems of their own to sort out.

Humans have proven beyond doubt that they can't organize and run a fucking village without conflict, let alone the world. Who would run this world without boundaries; where would they be based; who would appoint them? who would fire them when they fucked up? Everybody want's to run things their way....and everybody wants different things, done differently.

Bad plan....more boundaries, defended by big powerful armies with the capacity to smack down any jumped up fuckwit state that gets out of hand.....that's what we need.....

Can you imagine a world where a billion or two backward, ignorant people just decided to move into to your country, because there was no boundary?....

I sort of agree. We would segregage based upon anything that differentiates us.

Religion is the obvious one, so that would have to go.

Language. We would all need to speak the same language, otherwise each individual language group would form its own community.

Then there's colour. Orange would be a good idea since we have already made a start in Southend.

Finally wealth. We would all need to be equal or you would have the rich trying to eat the poor.

Well, despite the elite thinking they should, and we all being programmed to thinking that we would need to be "ran" at all, why would there need to be governments. As soon as you have government, you have policies and politicians, all of which are effected by greed, pride, religion, race, etc.

Why? Just because you remove boundaries why should you suddenly force people to speak another language. Its a personal choice if people want to learn, and if not, why make them?

It does say that every life is born equal though once you take away imaginary boundaries that humans have created, and if we are honest, the people who carved out the borders never did it for humanities sake but to emphasise which parts they had stolen, and to try and protect their wealth.

No Military needed at all.

You would have to physically take the money from the rich overnight without warning. The problem with having everyone equal was discovered by the Soviets. Everyone just does what they have to do in order to get by, and nothing more. Where there is no reward for working harder or better people simply don't. Even worse than that, some people still want a better life and since working doesn't bring it they resort to theft and violence.

^ Why? Simply removing all countries, all nationalism (except for sports, obviously) does not mean communism.

It would mean that companies that come from countries with powerful military would no longer be able to use them to bomb their way to profits though.... they would at least have to be honest and say they were their own army, and not a peace keeping international coalition.....

Imagine it - "We are from JP Morgan Army and we are hear to make you do what we want".

Private armies like that would not be able to attract quite as many people to join up perhaps...

I think if you go back a few thousand years you would find a world quite a lot like you describe. No political boundaries; no governments as we know government. Economies based on hunting, gathering or basic agriculture. Clean, unpolluted environment. Lots of room for everybody.

.....then human nature comes along. The strong dominate the weak and become the tribal leaders. Tribes fight other tribes over territory, or women, or the thousand and one other things people fight over.... The strongest and smartest tribal leaders win and enslave the weaker tribes.... sounds wonderful.

I'm making sure I support the top tribe. Always best to be on the winning side regardless if it's tribal warfare or the stock market.....

You've just described Moscow under Communism. Not so much J.P.Morgan but certainly most wholesalers who wanted to shift their products. "Here's a truckload of Coke and you're going to sell it".

They just need the muscle and the weapons, not necessarily the numbers. Rather like Thailand today.
