So now what are we gonna do? Rewrite history?

Flashback: As Governor, Bill Clinton Honored Confederacy On Arkansas Flag

In 1987, when her husband was governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton signed Act 116 that stated “The blue star above the word “ARKANSAS” is to commemorate the Confederate States of America

Mebe just airbrush out the PC parts we don't want to be reminded of? Like they used to do in the old Soviet Union?

    How 'bout this Bull Shit:

"Not only should the Confederate flag come down, but I believe it’s also time for Southern states to change place names in honor of traitors such as Jefferson Davis.

I know, I know: it’s a slippery slope that could eventually result in taking slaveholders such as George Washington off our currency or even renaming our national capital."

    Slippery slope indeed...

You don't get it eh? PC people believe that PC stands for truth and facts, when it actually stands for the exact opposite of truth and fact. Progressives will continue to push non-issues till they become issues.

If one were to look at the origin of the Confederate flag design they would need look no further than the Union Jack. This image was the one carried across the worlds oceans engaging in slavery, transport and brutality. Perhaps our UK cousins would like to abolish the Union Jack as a sign of racism? Lets start at its place of origin.

Diverting the issues away from the actual incident is a sure sign that PC revisionist agendas spring up whenever and wherever they find an opportunity to undermine ordinary citizens rights for the rights of the few.

By all means eliminate the Confederate flag folks...it won't cause a mass movement toward the elimination of racism. You need a "mind eraser." No doubt the Fed's are working on that one.

    It's becoming Loony Tunes Time

The Stars and Stripes is polling people on whether to rename military bases named after Confederates.

Confederate generals Braxton Bragg, John Bell Hood, George Pickett and A.P. Hill, left to right, are among the Confederate generals who have U.S. military bases named after them.

There's something fucked-up about how these Latte Liberal Elites can put up Commie posters in their houses and have the balls to try and erase anything associated with the Confederacy. These people embrace so-called 'commie art' which celebrated the killing of a 100 million people in the last century but look down their noses at Southerners.

Itnt thinks he's on to something because the Union Jack and Confederate flags both have a diagonal cross. Lot's of flags have a diagonal cross. Course, he has an IQ of 165 so he must be right.

Was a Davis a traitor? I don't think so. Not at all.

I took my US American history classes in high school and a class at Uni many moons ago. I've read a couple books on the topic around 20+ years ago.

The North and South back then were basically two different countries. There were enormous differences during the Article of Confederation, which was before the US Constitution.

I recall that General Robert E. Lee did not want to be in the Confederate Army, but since he was from Virginia, and VA seceded he followed suit.

One issue that should still be thought of, is state-control and the hypothetical (it is hypothetical) notion that a state or group of state can or could secede.

Why not - India renamed many cities as well. Makes sense

Racist bigots having a circle jerk defending the confederacy. It's hard to make yourselves appear even more stupid than everyone already knows you are but you are doing a good job of it.

Another thing I just remembered (and checked on google) is that Lincoln was not on the ballot in 10 Southern states.

Many historian say the South seceded was likely before the dispute over the expansion of slave states vs. free states.

That said, yes, slavery was one of the main issue(s) leading to the secession of the states and the attack on Fr. Sumter.

Don't take it out of context Bert. The Brits should own up to their participation in not only the creation of the Confederate flag, but the initial importation of slaves into the Americas.

Please note intellectual one that I used the noun "Americas, not singular America."

As the English provided slaves to almost all of South America, Central America, the Caribbean as well North America. This small fact seems to be ignored by the ubber class that now dominates the liberal pov's as voiced and read across the news reads and bloggers posts these days. Obviously this part of "the History lesson," will be deleted to all future viewers, general populations and students by those who are actively re-writing history in the progressive agenda.

    Bert's o a roll I see...abundantly a re-constructionist of historical data...two strikes now Bert.

So what, everyone who took US history classes knows that England was the South's best customer. Slavery kept the price of cotton artifically low. It has nothing to do with this thread though.
