Well what is Russia doing in the Ukraine do you really know I suggest you do some research start with the link I provided in a previous post.

And as for Syria well Russia was invited by the Syrian Goverment to help put down a USA funded and armed rebellion which by leaving a vacuum behind them as they attacked Government forces allowed ISIS to get a foothold in the country.
