^ Nonsense Boontard, no one is falling for that lie.

Everyone is well aware that the reason our federal government has been shut down is because the Tea Party faction in the house has refused to send a clean CR bill to the Senate.

The ACA is law and there's nothing the Tea Party can do to repeal it or delay it. The reckless Republican shutdown of the US government will not defund or repeal the Affordable Care Act; it hurts everyone and Americans are well aware who caused this morass.

There are enough votes in the house RIGHT NOW to end the shutdown but House Speaker Boehner REFUSES to let the clean CR go to a vote.

If it is "uncontrolled" then the house is at fault, not Obama. Read the constitution..

technically not a lie, but his post also includes a massive, deliberate misrepresentation of the gas price.

yes, the price of gas was lower than $2.00 in 09....but that's because the world was the middle of worst financial crisis in memory. go back and take a look at the price of gas in '07 before the crisis...and where it is today.

    here...let me help with that.

    one already out,.........

Fully 72 percent of Americans disapprove of shutting down the federal government over differences on the Affordable Care Act; just 25 percent approve of this action. Republicans are divided: 48 percent approve, while 49 percent disapprove. Most tea party supporters approve of the government shutdown - 57 percent of them do. Disapproval of the shutdown is high among Democrats and independents. This CBS News poll was conducted after the partial government shutdown began on October 1.

Views of the Affordable Care Act are related to views of the shutdown. Those who like the health care law also overwhelmingly disapprove of shutting down the government. There is more support for the shutdown among Americans who don't like the 2010 health care law. Thirty-eight percent of them approve of the shutdown but even more, 59 percent, disapprove.

    Who's to blame?

Republicans in Congress receive more of the blame for the shutdown: 44 percent of Americans blame them, while 35 percent put more blame on President Obama and the Democrats in Congress. These views are virtually the same as they were last week before the shutdown, when Americans were asked who they would blame if a shutdown occurred.

Poll: Americans not happy about shutdown; more blame GOP - CBS News

All you LIV's, listen up - you probably believe all the Democratic talking points on how Republicans are evil and are holding the country hostage in regard to the debt limit, but history says otherwise.

    Obama rewrites debt limit history.

Why are border patrol agents being told to stand down when the capitol police are still working without pay?

Must be that protection of politicians is more important than protection of our borders. Need every one of those illegal aliens to vote for the party of Dumb.

You can keep trying to spin it your way Boontard, but poll after poll confirms that the majority of Americans aren't falling for the GOP bullshit.

Senator: Capitol Police Working Without Pay Is ‘A National Disgrace’

Capitol Police officers who sprang into action on Thursday during a shooting near the U.S. Capitol are among the hundreds of thousands of government employees being forced to work without pay during the shutdown.

They are deemed essential personnel, but will not be paid until after the budget impasse is resolved.

“That this government is shut down today and they’re not getting paid is a national disgrace,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., told ABC News.

Sanders was among the senators who witnessed the chase and heard gunshots. He said he hid behind a black SUV for about five minutes before police escorted him back into the Capitol building. He said he was troubled by Republican leaders rushing to the House floor to praise the police, but making no mention of their financial sacrifice.

“I suspect at the end of the day they will get paid, but they have mortgages to meet, they have college loans to meet,” Sanders said. “These are not millionaires. They are struggling people who have families and kids.”

the only people who believe the dems are responsible for the shutdown are the usual suspects wallowing in right wing fever swamps. most of them probably don't believe it..but for reasons only they can explain, they feel the need to keep repeating this absurdity.

    anyway...

moderate republicans know the tea party is responsible
independents know the republicans/tea party are responsible
the left knows the GOP is responsible.

and the polling data is going to reflect that.

i'd say the polling data which comes out ~ wed/thurs of next week will show a significant shift that places even more of the blame on republicans. and if this shutdown goes into the third week, then this is definitely going to end in tears for the GOP.

btw, does anyone else find amusing that the GOP and its acolytes are crying about how the president won't negotiate?

Very easy to fix. Stop trying to sabotage the ACA and pass the Spending Bill, the Dems have already said they'll support it.

Someone at the National Weather Service’s Alaska bureau has a message for those who have shut down the government: “PLEASE PAY US.”

As is evident from the image above — taken directly from the National Weather Service’s bulletin log — someone in the Anchorage office encoded the nightly weather forecast with their plea.

Although many National Weather Service employees are considered “essential” and are therefore exempted from the furloughs caused by the government shutdown.

However, as Dan Sobien, present of the NWS Employee Organization told Popular Science, these “essential” employes aren’t being paid.

“There’s no money to pay them,” he said. “Nobody knows when anyone’s going to get paid.”

You can still get updates (essential) on the storm; from a different area, but it is a bit troubling to know all the men and women are not on duty.

That's a clever acrostic, I wonder if it was spotted or somebody working there emailed a friend "Look what we've done" and it spread.

I don't know (I'm thinking now that it's a look what we've done), but I just checked the site and the original message has been edited.

Government spending looks to be coming under control to me. Since 2009 the deficit has been going down and is projected to continue a decline.

Once again we see who is ultimately responsible for the Government Shut Down. Couple days ago, the Republicans offered a bill to prevent the shutdown affecting experimental cancer trials for children.

The Democrats rejected it. “But if you can help one child who has cancer,” CNN’s Dana Bash asked Harry Reid, “why wouldn’t you do it?”“Why would we want to do that?” replied the Senate Majority Leader, denouncing Miss Bash’s question as “irresponsible.” For Democrats, the budget is all or nothing.

What a bunch of assholes, eh?

House Speaker John Boehner has caved to the Tea Party Terrorists.

In 2011, John Boehner called a potential government shutdown irresponsible and costly.

In 2012 John Boehner recognized that President Obama kicked Mitt Romney's ass and that Obama's Affordable Care Act is "The Law Of The Land".

2013, John Boehner loses control of his caucus to the Tea Party radicals who shut down the federal government.
