Now, a retired US General is under investigation as a Leaker-

James Cartwright, Retired General, Targeted In Leak Probe: Reports

WASHINGTON — A former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is under investigation for allegedly leaking classified information about a covert cyberattack on Iran's nuclear facilities, according to media reports.

Retired Marine Gen. James "Hoss" Cartwright has been told he is a target of the probe, NBC News and The Washington Post reported Thursday. A "target" is someone a prosecutor or grand jury has substantial evidence linking to a crime and who is likely to be charged.

The Justice Department referred questions to the U.S. attorney's office in Baltimore, where a spokeswoman, Marcia Murphy, declined to comment.

The investigation of the leak about the Iran cyberattack is one of a number of national security leak investigations that have been started by the Obama administration, including ones involving The Associated Press and Fox News.

Its leaking all over the place, probably sink soon enough. I always find the American government very funny, they run off around the world accusing everyone else of doing bad things when they are the ones who do the most bad things in the world.

Like accusing the Chinese of hacking into their computers when they have been hacking into Chinese computers and spreading viruses in Iran. Bunch of jokers.

They just forget that they are supposed to govern for the people and are answerable to them. Unfortunately they are empowered by the people (who no doubt will be along in a second to attack this hero) and their willingness to have their liberties stomped on in the name of freedom, but in reality in the name of corporate totalitarianism.

Yes- we're allowed to do it to them, because we're 'right'.
But they're not allowed to do it to us, because they're 'wrong'.

It's kinda weird that Israel even bothers spying on the US. If they came out and publicly asked for the info they'd probably get it without having to exert all the time and effort of spying.

Israel: Ya know, about all those billions in aid money for doing fuck all, the unwritten* understanding that you've got our backs if we decide to do anything and the freebie vetoes that you guarantee us at the UN? Those things are very nice and all but we really think that you should not be so stingy with all your state secrets.

Most of the US: ZOMFG! Why are we hiding things from our great friends?!??!?!???

Members of Congress: This is a National Outrage!™ and clearly a Liberal plot. Plus I'm up for re-election soon so here are the books, knock yerselves out!

    * Fun trivia: The USA has no Treaty of Alliance with Israel.

I'm not sue were co-operation ends, and espionage begins between the US & Israel.
Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Feith and Richard Perle have all been caught spying for Israel- and they are (or were) major architects of US foreign policy.
Certainly, the US paranoia about internal whistleblowers is matched by no such concern about Israeli espionage activities.

Lets have a brief look at 'Hoss' Cartwright's'' resume'-

From July 9, 2004 to September 1, 2004, Lieutenant General Cartwight served as Acting Commander, U.S. Strategic Command while awaiting official assumption of office and promotion as Strategic Command's new commander. On September 1, 2004, Cartwright was sworn in as Commander, U.S. Strategic Command.[4] He was promoted to full general on the same day.[5]

On June 8, 2007, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates recommended Cartwright to be the next Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to replace retiring Admiral Edmund Giambastiani; President George W. Bush formally announced the nomination, with that of Admiral Michael Mullen to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on June 28, 2007.[6]
Senator John Warner of Virginia, the senior Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, stated, "General Cartwright has an extraordinary grasp and understanding of the global posture that America must maintain in this era of new and ever-changing threats."[7]

... General (retired) Cartwright currently serves as the inaugural holder of the Harold Brown Chair in Defense Policy Studies for the Center for Strategic and International Studies. In addition, General Cartwright serves as a member of The Raytheon Company Board of Directors,[15] a Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center,[16] and as a defense consultant for ABC News.[17]
General Cartwright is an advisor for several corporate entities involved in global management consulting; technology services and program solutions; predictive and Big Data Analytics; and advanced systems engineering, integration, and decision-support services. He serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors for Accenture Federal Services, Enlightenment Capital, IxReveal, Logos Technologies, Opera Solutions, and TASC Inc. He is also affiliated with a number of professional organizations to include the Aspen Strategy Group, The Atlantic Council, Nuclear Threat Initiative, and The Sanya Initiative.
