Colo. voters cast ballots to recall two lawmakers who voted for gun control.

The Colorado state senate president who faced a backlash after casting votes for gun control has conceded in a race to recall him from office, and the Associated Press says a second state lawmaker who cast the same votes has lost her recall vote.
With one of two counties completely tallied, 50.96% of voters cast ballots to remove state Sen. John Morse, a Democrat, from office and 49.04% cast ballots to keep him, according to the Colorado Secretary of State.
So what was the nature of the gun control that he implemented, universal background checks on all gun transfers and limiting gun magazines to 15 rounds.
Hardly sounds like exstream stuff, and does someone demonstrate how mealy mouthed people are when they suggest that gun problem in america is down to crazy and criminal people getting guns..... and then think that universal background checking is such an offensive thing.
As for the election there were about 69k voters and the break down was about 88% could not be bothered to vote, 6% for the recall and about 6% against.
And what will politicians learn from this, the pro gun lobby may well be a minority but they are organized enough to get their supporters out, even if they are small minority, get you recalled and get you thrown out if you do anything that might interfere with the sale of guns. As I said back in jan. Americans are quite comfortable with school massacres, easy access to guns is far more important to them. Those that care about taking practical steps to deal with the issue and will continue to care long enough for legislation to be enacted are a very small minority indeed.... most will care for a few weeks and then forget about it and move on.... if you expect the voters to save your ass from the NRA you are very much mistaken.
Sweepstake on when the next school massacre happens in the US, anyone? bad taste yes.... but then Americans don't seem to value the lives of their children that much so should we care?
